All speculation.
the only thing real is history.
Big brother existed for 1700 years.
Big brother is returning

What is to wonder?
Soon you will be a serf and if you don't like it they will shut off your bank account. Total control, its over.
Russia will not take this.

3 things:
1. History is a human construction. Not all "true" there, I'm afraid.
2. As commodities (especially oil and gas) prices go down, Russia loses steam. Their heavy-handed treatment of foreign investors won't help them right now
3. I'm living off a student loan, paying interest. I'd kinda be better off if that bank account was closed...

Apologists say it isn't
But it is.

There are tons of apologists around but if you want the truth look at the big picture.

Big brother is returning. Denying it won't change it.
And Russia will not like it.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'W')ASHINGTON (AFP) — The world faces a growing risk of conflict over the next 20 to 30 years amid an unprecedented transfer of wealth and power from West to East, the US intelligence chief has said.
Michael McConnell, the director of national intelligence, predicted rising demand for scarce supplies of food and fuel, strategic competition over new technologies, and the spread of weapons of mass destruction.

The world that he now knows won't even exist in 20 to 30 years! What he envisions for the future is probably equally flawed.

This is like telling a child that there is a monster under the bed that will eat him if he gets out of it before morning. The child grows up to realize that there is no monster. In this case, there might not even be a bed!

The last refuge for those ill-equipped to defend their position is to take either side of the extreme. Doesn't matter which side because the effort is to state something so obvious that it defuses the others argument. Personally I've usually experienced this from my wife, by which time I know it's futile to pursue my point - just the nature of long term relationships.

However, as this is not the case here, I can't let this go.

WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO?

You blithering idiot, you're supposed to figure that out for yourself. Perhaps for the first time in your life, don't look for someone else to tell you what to do. If there's any benefit from civilizations collapse it's that we have the chance to make our own life - and learn life's most valuable lesson.

If you're going to wait around for someone else to tell what to do, yea, you'll experience first hand the so-called die-off. Your life is your choice... radical concept when the average american is waiting around for Oprah or dr. phil to make it all better.

OK, mark, genius living in Chicago, maybe you could share with us what your most excellent survival plan is. Most around here think being in the middle of a big city like Chi-Town is about the worst possible place to be. I don't necessarily agree with them, but I would be interested in your rational for your decision to stay where you are.

Or do you have a secret bug-out spot that you don't care to reveal?

Fortunately, it's rather more simple than that!

“Today the nations of the world may be divided into two classes - the nations in which the government fears the people, and the nations in which the people fear the government.”

And for the past 8 years guess which one the US has been!

HOPE NOT FEAR the fear mongering and "terrorist" watches have worn off, rediculous ploys to invent something abstract and fearful that doesn't exit. Here is a note from George Wallace's daughter:
I think she wouldn't mind...
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'M')ONTGOMERY, Alabama (CNN) -- I heard a car door slam behind me and turned to see an elderly but spry woman heading my way.

The night before, a gang of vandals had swept through the cemetery desecrating graves, crushing headstones and stealing funereal objects.

My parents' graves, situated on a wind-swept hill overlooking the cemetery, had not been spared. A large marble urn that stood between two granite columns had been pried loose and spirited away, leaving faded silk flowers strewn on the ground.

I was holding a bouquet of them in my arms when the woman walked up and gave me a crushing hug. "Honey," she said, "you don't know me, but when I saw you standing up here on this hill, I knew that you must be one of the girls and I couldn't help myself but to drive up here and let you know how much me and my whole family loved both of your parents. They were real special people."

I thanked her for her kind words as we stood side by side gazing down at the graves of Govs. George Wallace and Lurleen Wallace.

After a few moments, the woman leaned into me and spoke almost in a conspiratorial whisper. "I never thought I would live to see the day when a black would be running for president. I know your daddy must be rolling over in his grave."

Don't Miss
Maya Angelou: Time to lift America's spirit
Commentary: America's historic new chapter
In Depth: Commentaries
Not having the heart or the energy to respond, I gave her bony arm a slight squeeze, turned and walked away. As I put the remnants of the graveyard spray in the trunk of my car, I assumed that she had not bothered to notice the Barack Obama sticker on my bumper.

When I was a young voter and had little interest in politics, my father would mark my ballot for me. As I thought about the woman in the cemetery, I mused that if he were alive and I had made the same request for this election, there would be a substantial chance, though not a certainty, that he would put an "X" by Obama's name.

Perhaps it would be the last chapter in his search for inner peace that became so important to him after becoming a victim of hatred and violence himself when he was shot and gravely injured in a Laurel, Maryland, shopping center parking lot. Perhaps it would be a way of reconciling in his own mind that what he once stood for did not prevent freedom of opportunity and self-advancement from coming full circle; his final absolution.

George Wallace and other Southern governors of his ilk stood defiantly in the 1950s and '60s in support of racial segregation, a culture of repression, violence and denial of basic human rights.

Their actions and the stark images of their consequences that spread across the world galvanized the nation and gave rise to a cry for an end to the American apartheid. The firestorms that were lit in Birmingham, Oxford, Memphis, Tuscaloosa, Montgomery, Little Rock and Selma were a call to arms to which the people responded.

And now a new call to arms has sounded as Americans face another assault on freedom. For if the stand in the schoolhouse door was a defining moment for George Wallace, then surely the aftermath of Katrina and the invasion of Iraq will be the same for George W. Bush.

The trampling of individual freedoms and his blatant contempt for the rights of the average American may not have been as obvious as an ax-handle-wielding governor, but Bush's insidiousness and piety have made him much more dangerous.

Healing must come, hope will be our lodestar, humility will reshape the American conscience, and honesty in both word and deed will refresh and invigorate America, and having Barack Obama to lead will give us back our power to heal.

My father lived long enough to come to an understanding of the injustices borne by his deeds and the legacy of suffering that they left behind. History will teach future generations that he was a man who used his political power to promote a philosophy of exclusion.

As his daughter, who witnessed his suffering in the twilight of his years and who witnessed his deeds and heard his words, I am one who believes that the man who, on March 7, 1965, listened to the reports of brutality as they streamed into the Governor's Mansion from Selma, Alabama, was not the same man who, in March of 1995, was welcomed with open arms as he was rolled through a sea of African-American men, women and children who gathered with him to welcome another generation of marchers, retracing in honor and remembrance the historic steps from Selma to Montgomery.

Four years ago, the young Illinois senator who spoke at the Democratic National Convention mesmerized me. I hoped even then that he would one day be my president.

Today, Barack Obama is hope for a better tomorrow for all Americans. He stands on the shoulders of all those people who have incessantly prayed for a day when "justice will run down like waters and righteousness as a mighty stream" (Amos 5:24).

Perhaps one day, my two sons and I will have the opportunity to meet Barack Obama in person to express our gratitude to him for bringing our family full circle.

And today, the day after the election, I am going to ride to the cemetery so that if asked, I can vouch for the fact that the world is still spinning but my father lies at peace.

I noticed that there was a swath of the interior south that voted for McCain, but that most of the country went for Obama.

I was surprised that it didn't turn out like this:

Once again, it seems that as the worlds population continues to expand here in the heartland of America they continue to be clouded by a by gone era and sadly so!

Considering the fact that in reality we as a race are in fact the minority throughout the world, this as the world populations continue to expand by the year 2050 current forecast expect a global population of better than 9 Billion.

So who do you think will expand this popultion growth...

What we fail to learn we are destine to revisit, never let race become an issue, only fools walk down that path!

Much of the problems we are currently enduring are self created by greed, corruption and mismangement.

“The first panacea for a mismanaged nation is inflation of the currency; the second is war. Both bring a temporary prosperity; both bring a permanent ruin. But both are the refuge of political and economic opportunists.”

Ernest Hemingway

Dept/o Homeland Security To Scan Blogs For Propaganda

Postby mattduke » Thu 25 Dec 2008, 16:26:28

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')he Homeland Security Department may soon start scouring the Internet to find blogs and message boards that terrorists use to plan attacks in the USA.

The effort comes as researchers are seeing terrorists increasingly use the Internet to plan bombings, recruit members and spread propaganda.

That is the excuse. The raeal goal is to catalogue all patriots, honest people, underdogs and misfits so they can be removed quickly. When you cut off the head of any revolt, the body falls limp.

But you do not understand.

they may have been scanning for years, but if there is a LAW that they need to scan for T's then it follows they have a law that REQUIRES them to find out WHO posts EVERY BLOG which means...

The rules for servers, and computers are about to change
the only way to know WHO is posting is to make sure you cannot post anonymously.

So, smugly saying "this has been done for years" is a red herring, it is about to go un anonymous.

get it now? Uncle Sam wants YOU --->
