I found out yesterday that the gooberment has passed into law that I cant draw more than $500.00 in cash from my own account in a 1 week period. What kind of crap is that? Its my money. I just about blew a gasket.

No problem, its not your money anyway, can't have people running around with cash, you know, wouldn't be controllable.

The reason they are doing this is your bank is about to fold up, they have lots of repossessed houses on the "books" but no cash.
I would transfer all my money to a washington mutual bank and you can get all the cash you want, the feds own it onow and they know how to print.

Tell us the name of the bank that refused you so I can stay away from that one.

It is my account, My money. They stated they can not let me have more than 500 in cash per week. They stated it is a new federal law, to help control terrorist activities. Like im a friggin terrorist. Born and raised right here in mo, and a native american indian. Havn't heard of that, the only thing close was once while withdrawing 14,000 had to fill out paperwork and told authorities would be notified as they were required but that was many years ago.

There's no federal law limiting the amount you can withdraw from a checking account in a week. I had to pay a car repair shop $1200 in cash a couple of months ago. I was able to draw it out of the ATM over three days.

The only federal law I know of relating to cash transactions is that if you pay $10,000 cash to a business in a single calendar year it has to be reported to the IRS on a form 8300.

Im just telling you what they told me. I called a who lot more the bull crap to the point of almost getting escorted out. The bank said i can write checks for whatever amount and use the atm for cash up to the limit, but i cant withdraw more than $500.00 in cash in a single week. I think its just to keep from a run on the bank, which they are covering with this lie. And the account holder is a local bank not a national bank.

My Mother cashed in some CD's for us kids this summer. She just called the bank to order in some cash. She pulled out $35,000 in cash. My share went into preps.

Some smaller bank branches want a few hours or more notice before you withdraw a sizable sum. It may have something to do with that policy, which is really nothing to be concerned about.

I went to my bank's atm yesterday morning to withdraw $200. It told me it was unable to process my request. I then tried for $150. Again it was unable to process my request. I lastly tried for $100 which it did process but it did give me the money in all $5 bills. That has never happened before (getting all fives).
Normally if it were a Monday I would say the machine was low from over the weekend, but being on a Tuesday morning and it was the atm at the bank itself inwhich they had time to refill it on Monday I found it rather odd.
I didn't try to take anymore out because I was to mad at it giving me all fives. I didn't want any more of them.
