$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'J')eb Bush: I would have authorized Iraq War
Washington (CNN)
Jeb Bush said he would have done the same as his brother in deciding to go to war in Iraq if he had been president at the time.
His comments, in an interview with Fox News set to air on Monday night,
come in the wake of Bush's private statement that he relies on his brother, former President George W. Bush, as an adviser on some Middle East affairs.http://www.cnn.com/2015/05/10/politics/jeb-bush-immigration-scott-walker-election-2016/Lol.
Talk about doubling down.
"Yeah, I would have invaded Iraq too."
"Yeah, W. Bush is my middle east advisor."
To be fair, geopolitical strategy wise -- I actually do think Dick Cheney / Rumsfeld and all the people on Jeb Bush's team, and I guess Jeb Bush himself as he has just told Foxnews, have a point.
BUT -- I don't know.
I'm wobbling on the whole neocon thing. I've seen the reality that in our absence, other countries can step up and do their own foreign policy, and do their own wars, without our guys having to go fight and die in the desert over there, or come back with PTSD and then the same Republicans that sent them to war want to cut their Social Security.
The thing about Jeb Bush is that
his head is in the clouds as far as all these big stick things America could do around the world again, with our military, but the problem is that has become too disconnected with success here in the homeland.
So -- I ain't gonna vote for that. They've lost me. Their free trade deals and wars do no benefit me and mine, anymore, and we can't go saving the world being world cop when we've got so many problems right here at home that these Republicans will not address!
So -- I'm just posting this so you guys know, that yep, Jeb Bush is a neocon. He's come out of the closet on that, he's proud of it, and he even said W. Bush is his middle east advisor.Vote accordingly.
