Something to cheer you up fom all the gloomy news!

Pandora radio, The Music Genome Project. A very cool website for those who enjoy music. Type in the name of an artist or a type of music and Pandora plays music from all artists that fits that kind of sound!

On January 6, 2000 a group of musicians and music-loving technologists came together with the idea of creating the most comprehensive analysis of music ever.

"Pandora captures the essence of music at the most fundamental level. We ended up assembling literally hundreds of musical attributes or "genes" into a very large Music Genome. Taken together these genes capture the unique and magical musical identity of a song - everything from melody, harmony and rhythm, to instrumentation, orchestration, arrangement, lyrics, and of course the rich world of singing and vocal harmony. It's not about what a band looks like, or what genre they supposedly belong to, or about who buys their records - it's about what each individual song sounds like. "

Hope you enjoy! :)

Just 10 minutes into Pandora, and I've been transported from being in a MEGA-PISSY mood to a contemplative -- perhaps even hopeful -- mood.

Good stuff.

Pandora seems really cool... ...at first.

If you listen to it frequently, you'll find that you are hearing the same stuff over and over. The repetoire, in other words, is not huge.

I tune in to this collection of high quality sound streams:

Pandora no longer works for anyone with an IP outside of the US. Something about licensing.
