People eat roadkill around here, but it needs to be fresh, just run-over roadkill.

The main issue around here wouldn't be as much sanitary as jealousy. You're not allowed to collect roadkill here and people can get pretty agro about it. The idea is to prevent people hunting with their car. IMHO, it's egregiously wasteful.
