$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('buzzard', 'I')'m not sure how many of you have thought that the real reason that Rocc left is simply that P.O. dot com no longer meets his needs. Remember there was a time before this forum and there will be a time after. Life is like that. I began my internet "career" on a forum called The Fourth Turning years ago after reading a book titled, strangely enough The Fourth Turning. The book changed my life and made me think about history in a new way. From that I began questioning the things around me. One of the posters on that forum was always mentioning a phenomenon called "Peak Oil". Eventually, I was curious enough to look it up. I googled the words peak oil and the rest is, as they say, history.
I like to say that the first web site that I visited was Savinar's but it's not true. It was Wolf at the Door in England. Savinar was second though and he got my attention. I visited this place as soon as it opened for business back in 2004. I lurked for a few months then joined what was then a small but growing family. And even though I have mostly maintained my wallflower status, be assured that many of you I definately consider family. I have laughed and cried and been angry and astonished along with you all for over four years now. I have often wondered what I would do if the internet went down and I was no longer able to check in with what i believe is the premier location for stimulation and awareness on the web. This meeting place fulfills what to many must be a legitimate need for realness and sanity in a world gone mad. It has been so for me.
When you consider what this family means to each other, it comes as bit of a surprise to me that so many of you are saying goodbye to one of your own. In ones and twos, then in small groups what Roccman has done is what we all must do sometime. We are not saying goodbye but "see you on the other side." It's what we have anticipated and planned for.
This is prelude to what I actually came back here to say. Like Richard I have decided to move on. I decided this a couple of weeks ago. But it has been hard to cut the cord. I know that this probably doesn't mean much to most of you because my presence here over the years has not been exactly imposing like guys like Roccman or golem (raphael). But, believe me it is like leaving behind a bunch of brothers and sisters. And, no, I am not bunkering up. I am simply getting on with it. It is time. That is what I believe Rocc decided too. I also believe that more of us in the coming days will make the same decision.
Face it. If you have been paying attention at all, you know what you have to do. Some of the threads in the preparation forum have been going continuously for years. You have followed the trajectory of graphs for long enough that there can be few real surprises left. That is not to say that Aaron needs to fold his tent. I realize that new faces show up with great regularity and they need exactly what this site provides. I also know that some of you have taken it as your duty to be responsible for these fledgling POers. There can be no higher calling. I salute you. As for me, I have neither the time nor patience for such a task.
So... I was just going to back out the door. But Roccman's very public exit prompted me to make my own a statement on the record, so to speak. And to give me a chance to express in my own stumbling way my gratitude and affection for the best and brightest group of stark-raving lunatics on the planet. Give yourselves a standing ovation for your steadfast and unwavering search for truth. May your personal challenges be small enough to bear in the coming years, for challenges there will be in abundance.
See you on the other side.

PO tends to be filled with over-reacting fear driven ppl.
What this site lacks is the realization and willingness to perceive the spiritual changes coming to mankind soon.
After Golem was banned, PO's meaning for me has diminished greatly.
