There Is No Cavalry

Unread postby BigTex » Mon 29 Sep 2008, 14:02:00

I saw on another site where someone posted something to the effect of it was time to circle the wagons and wait for the cavalry.

It occurred to me that a lot of people may be thinking this way, and they are likely to be disappointed when they discover that there is no cavalry.

The Fed has 2% to go before zero and then that will be it.

The government will have done everything in its power.

No more taxes to cut.

No more rates to cut.

No more stimulus checks to send out.

No more wars to start.

No more money to borrow.

It will be time to just sit quietly and see what entropy has in store for us.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('BigTex', 'I') saw on another site where someone posted something to the effect of it was time to circle the wagons and wait for the cavalry.

As a peon at the bottom of the heap, I always knew there wouldn't be a cavalry to come save me. Hell, I don't even have wagons to circle to keep me busy while I wait for the nonexistant cavalry to come.

Ain't no Jones either...

But I think this is no time to just sit Tex, we have been talking about this for a while and anyone not just playing Keyboard Doom should have a plan.

While others are waiting I'd suggest working plan A really hard.

It ain't time for plan B I'm thinking, the '70s were much worse and even the S&L bit was probably tougher but sitting now is not a good idea.
The legitimate object of government, is to do for a community of people, whatever they need to have done, but can not do, at all, or can not, so well do, for themselves -- in their separate, and individual capacities.

State of Confusion say:

Time may prove that circling the wagons was smarter than to keep playing the slot machines at the Tribe's Casino.
If you give a man a fish you will have kept him from hunger for a day. If you teach a man to fish he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.
