Very sorry for your loss, Indigo.

The most significant people in our lives help to shape who we are, who we become. We cannot separate ourselves from them, even though our relationships may change.

A dear friend of mine lost her ex-husband several years ago. He was 51, she 10 years his junior, and she was remarried by this time. He died from the effects of alcoholism. She and their grown sons stayed at his bedside in the ICU during his last days. My friend felt only love for him as he slipped away, even though they were estranged and much pain had passed between them over the years.

If we have loved someone, the love remains.

Indigo, my most sincere condolences to you and yours!

All you can do right now is stand strong & hang tough, because you probably wont get a moment to grieve until the day after the funeral. I learned this first hand when my dad passed away.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

So sad. Sorry to hear about losing your best friend and the father to your boys. It is my worst fear that I could lose my wife and kids. All the best.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('IndigoMoon', 'T')hank you everyone for your kind words. I cannot focus yet I need to
sleep. I will have a houseful tomorrow, all of my boys friends call me
Mom and will be here. I will stand strong. My peace will come in time.
I've heard some very wize words and I kind of know what you're going
though. So take it easy, remember the lost and most importantly
remember those still here...

Indigo,

When someone passes at my church we always respond with a covered dish. Can't send the real thing to you so I hope a platter of virtual enchiladas from Texas will do instead.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Take care.
If you give a man a fish you will have kept him from hunger for a day. If you teach a man to fish he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Indeed Steamy.

In the end we all will fade to black...alone...and return to the nothingness that we were spawned from.

Keep well Steamy and IM.

Again, thank you all for your heartfelt words. We buried him 9.24.08. It was an uncomfortable situation. My ex-in-laws did not want me there. My boys wanted me there- so I went. He is at peace and that is what matters. Life goes on and time will heal.
