There was something I experienced a long time ago. I think it was on TV. It was a guy who was doing kind of a Denis Leary rant but without the comedic edge. It went along the lines of:
I hate [pet peeve #1]
I hate [pet peeve #2]
I hate [pet peeve #3]
I hate [pet peeve #4]
I hate [pet peeve #5]
As he was going down the list he was getting more and more enraged until he just goes off the rails entirely and started chanting
"I hate, I hate, I hate, I hate, I hate" repetitively like the end of a Nirvana song until it kind of faded off in self-realization at what he was doing.
That's always kind of stuck with me. Just think about those two words. "I hate". Think about what that means when you feel the need to rant to people what you hate all the time. When you remove the object of the hate and just focus on the two words "I hate" being repeated over and over again, it says more about the pathetic nature of the person than it does about the things they hate.
