Yep - Steve and I go back a few years...met him for lunch a few months ago.
Their product is pretty competitive...does not beat super pails of legumes, but for some accessible back up...can't beat it.

Yes the supply of plain stuff would go well with some more meat products with good shelf life

Wow talk about bringing back memories...
Among other dehydrated meats we used to buy in the commissary while I was stationed in Germany in 1972... Those PORK CHOPS!
We would open and rehydrate a can and then run them through the meat grinder with spices and make sausage.. or mix 1/2 and 1/2 with re-hydrated "beef steaks" to make the meat portions of our meat loafs, spaghetti sauce, etc...
I didn't check the prices in your web site, but when I shipped my house hold goods from Germany when I left the ARMY, we shipped home 400 cases of dehydrated meats as a portion of our HHG... ( they are now 43 years old and as of last year one opened can tested was still the same as always)...
The price tag from the commissary still reads 76 cents.... LOL ( per case) Maybe I should rotate them out for some newer stuff? My kids who all remember how to fix and use this stuff would be glad to help me use it up feeding the grand childern.....

as a hint to anyone who doesn't already know the system... If you live near a military facility ( any service) check out the base ( post) phone book for "property disposal office" known as the PDO. They hold auctions on "lots" including the commissary and supply chains locally to "dispose" of "dated" and used equipment and supplies.
In my home state "Alabama" we also have a state surplus property sales office in Montgomery that has auctions once a week. The old civil defense supply HQs were scattered but food and medicines were concentrated in the caves around Kansas City for a long time FEMA has PDO offices and you can find out where and when food and medicines are being auctioned by simply asking... OF course unless you have the ability to store several container loads of stuff you might want to ask about the size of lots. I once bid on what I thought was a few hundred cases of rations and had to rent 2 containers until I could buy a couple....LOL Dehydrated and emergency rations used to see many sales with only 1 or 2 bidders and the regular surplus buyers would let a once in a while guy buy the first item he bid on because he would then be done bidding for the rest of the sale. Cant say what it is like now, haven't been to a sale in 20 years, but interest in long storage food is certainly growing.
