The 11th Hour-DVD 2008

I would probably not have picked this up off the shelf because it was advertised as being produced and narrated by Leo DiCaprio, and I had given it a biased dismissal. I'm developing a class and someone handed it to me. 92 minutes of short sound bites from most of the currently living big names in PO & GW, with some outstanding video footage, divided about 5/8 PO and 3/8 GW. Someone did a fantastic editing job. A very nice summary of limits to growth. I may use it in my class, and I may show it to my daughter. Two thumbs up.

2nded, fine editing job, good pacing, essential content for the skeptics.

I don't think it really hit the point of overshoot and die-off head on. It kind of glossed over it and tried to tack on some feel good stuff on the end. But it went as far as mainstream society can probably bear.

I still walked out of watching it seriously depressed about the state of the environment, far more than the peak oil part. I walked across the street to a mexican restaurant and pigged out and felt guilty about my excess consumption, but did it anyway just to savor the fact that I could.

I agree. The title of the film implies a more doomy approach..
Anyway, happy to see public characters as DiCaprio taking part.
The best about PO is that it constantly unbores me.

I think it went further than most mainstream people could bear. Which isn't to say it went too far. I agree with your critique but it's a good opening to people who know absolutely nothing about the severity of the crises facing us. I like how it addressed multiple issues and not just the "controversial" global warming one.
