If creatures create biomagnetic fields(as they must because we are bioelectrical creatures) then it may be possible to create devices which oscillate and act as antennas to these biomagnetic fields, draining them.
If that's so, we could grow large quantities of algae, and literally suck their lifeforce, once they were fully grown into power cells.
If the frequency was relatively low, we could hook this biosolar cells up everywhere, draining the bioenergy of the algae, as our power sources. We could use multiple varieties with the same frequency but with different pigment in order to maximize the energy produced to be extracted.
