I found Leeb's book to be a little optimistic, but then, it's an investing book, not an Peak Oil primer.

That being said, I think his analysis is dead on and his investment advice should be followed.

I'm finishing it up now and found it refreshing. Its not a doom and gloom, get ready to die or live a "Roadwarrior" existence. It talks about practical things to do in this world now, as it currently exists. Granted, they are investment things, but those actions will help now. And we still are living in the world now. Definitely a soft landing view.
