Ludi: $this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'W')hat would you "do about it"?
Well let's see Ludi, perhaps you didn't follow the links, but there's plenty of information about how to contact your representative and bury them under a pile of emails and faxes (I am not a US citizen, otherwise I would be doing this), the simple act of 'spreading the word' can go a long way to advance a fight against this.
Tell people, make sure you yourself understand the implications, get the facts, contrast them with the information on the two links I gave you and, just like PO- talk about it, write about it, don't stop. Support any organisation already existing (there are lots) who are actively mobilising against this and related issues such as GM, forced crop spraying, compulsory vaccination. etc.
Other than that, what did you expect me to reply Ludi? Sorry, but your question seems so stupid ....
Zensui:$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 't')he EU is labeling GM food and there has being a rebirth of permaculture-like food cultivation in Costa Rica
Thanks for the good news, yes, there are quite a lot of very aware farmers and their organisations around the globe who are mobilised and actively fighting for their traditional ways and crops. In India for example there is a very well organised and succesfull pressure group, in the EU there are several. But it is always an uphill slog and we can never give up and go home, GM are being planted increasingly and as greenworm points out, the big problem with even limited GM plantations is nature's own way of carrying seed from one place to another. Contamination of non-GM's may turn out to give Big Chem/Agro technology their final victory. Should the Codex Alimentarius go ahead as planned, these two phenomena will condemn us to an even more complex and dire future than what we glimpse today.
