What's on your mind?
General interest discussions, not necessarily related to depletion.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Shannymara', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('AlwaysThere', 'M')y co-worker says gas stations in Ca limit purchases to $75, has anybody else experienced this ?

That's been related to credit card agreements where I've seen it, and has something to do with security rather than rationing. Are they limiting cash purchases as well?

I noticed the other day that the former $50 Visa/MC limit wasn't in place anymore at one of the stations I use.

Yes it is related to CC purchases, I wonder if they will change it.

Regarding those $50-75 c.c. limits. I suspect those are going to have to me either removed or raised very shortly as a general rule, as those limits were never intended to prevent the average consumer from filling up their gas tank and paying with their card, which must be starting to happen on a regular basis now anywhere a $50 limit remains in place.

Another thing, I never remember such a steep rise without a major "real world" event. Just a bullish inventory report.

There is a lot of cash in the "Global Economy" looking for a home. But in a practical sense, Americans are just simply going to have to deal with paying $150 to fill up the SUV, slow down on thier driving, or get a smaller car.

Enforcing the 55 mph speed limit would save how much gas ? Buy a Vespa and use it to make those trips to the Store - I did, I can carry 6 sacks of groceries on it.

Why ? There is how many trillions of dollars in circulation and how many million BOE burned a day ? We are not at the bottom of anything, on the other hand we are most likely at the "Peak" of everything.

Are you one of those who are

a: wanting to buy cheap after the crash ?

or

b. one who has always wanted what everybody else had, and can't wait for the crash to see them "lose" it ?

or

c. ???

I would suspect most on PO.com fall into one of these categories.

incorrect. I'm waiting for this industrial civilization to collapse so that the biosphere can heal. :)

Lets just keep track of the number of all time records broken in a day.

Am I alone in thinking that demand destruction will bring price down at some point? Especialy as airlines park up planes and holiday plans are shelved.
