My son's comp suddenly stopped opening all Office applications. It tries, then up pops an error message saying we need to install the program.

I uninstalled Office, re-installed, same thing.

Gave up, downloaded the OpenOffice 2.4 freebie, problem solved. It allows us to save all documents in the Microsoft Office formats, so compatibility with the rest of the world is no problem. God bless Sun Microsystems.

BTW, Safari appears to be superior to IE in every way. What an improvement.

Try google docs.

Mr. Bill (Gates) gets no more money from me.
The legitimate object of government, is to do for a community of people, whatever they need to have done, but can not do, at all, or can not, so well do, for themselves -- in their separate, and individual capacities.

Yes, use GNU/Linux! :-D
It's free! Free as in freedom, not as in free beer! 8)

Thousands of people use their free time to create a free operating system, superior to M$ Windows (and many others). Buy a CD to support them if you like to use it.

It just works!

Do i sound like a television commercial? Good!

Seriously, only use Windows to play games. Use GNU/Linux for everything else and you save yourself a lot of stress and time.

Have fun!

Roach, why not use a dedicated gaming machine like a Wii or PS3 instead of the computer to play? Windows is simply not worth to use for anything... such virus prone, ugly, uncomfortable, slow, old, ...
