I read these boards as much as anyone else, I suppose. The only real proof of reality is how much I pay nowadays for diesel. Somehow the bad news stays on the computer screen and hasn't seemed to get me personally where I live.
Mrs. Lupus and I had long days and decided to treat ourselves to a pizza. When asked, the owner of the pizza joint we frequent told me that flour has gone through the roof and Gonella, his bread supplier, has raised prices four times in the last five months. He said that when I go to Jewel to get milk, think of him, because cheese has doubled.
That's not the kicker -- every one of his deliverymen (with the exception of the guy who comes by to sharpen his knives every other week) has added a delivery charge to his bills to cover the cost of fuel.
So my doomer meter just went up another notch. Homebrew biodiesel season is almost here and I guess I'm going to start stocking the pantry even more.
Jeezum!
