The paradox thread

Your job for this thread is to come up with a semantical paradox.

Such as, "I never tell the truth."

Will also accept logical paradoxes as well

"It's the volume that makes the loss leaders profitable."

I actually had a grocery store manager tell me that one time.

(S)He's an honest pollitician!
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Alfred Tennyson', 'W')e are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

The paradox of the paradox is that it is not a paradox.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('killJOY', 'T')his sentence is false.
that's lame, bro. If it's false, it's false. Saying you lie when you are telling the truth does not constitute a paradox. It only means we should take what you say with a grain of salt. How about this:

you enter a land where people tell only the truth or they only lie. you come to a fork in the road. one road leads to a death-dealing swamp and the other leads you home. There are two people guarding the roads. One is a liar, the other tells the truth. You are only allowed one question. What question should you ask?

OK, I gotcha. And I don't care. I'm on your side and wish you well. Here's the answer to my riddle: you pick either one at random and ask, "Which way would he tell me to go?"

"There are those who think that theyve been dealt a losing hand
The cards were stacked against them ---
They werent born in lotus-land

All preordained
A prisoner in chains
A victim of venomous fate
Kicked in the face
You cant pray for a place
In heavens unearthly estate

Each of us
A cell of awareness
Imperfect and incomplete
Genetic blends
With uncertain ends
On a fortune hunt
Thats far too fleet."

Actually it orginated with "All Cretins are liars" " as said by a cretin" and it was the exact same example I gave

I hate tests:

Increasing efficiency leads to ever-greater increases in demand.

A theme we all know - here is my contribution:

Increasing efficiency most benefits those least dependent on efficiency.
The legitimate object of government, is to do for a community of people, whatever they need to have done, but can not do, at all, or can not, so well do, for themselves -- in their separate, and individual capacities.
