I am Jack's disillusioned psyche after reading that Fight Club has an analogue in Calvin and Hobbes.

Thats blasphemy.

Of a thousand burning bridges
Sifting through the ashes every day
What we thought would never end
Now is nothing more than a memory
The way things were before
I lost my way" - OCMS

Makes perfect sense.

How else would Calvin turn out, once he found out what the real world is all about? Disillusioned, broken, alone, only to be constantly driven by Hobbes to change and do something about it.

What's really fun is to remember that the author, Chuck, is gay. I very distinctly remember being clued in to this after I'd gone to see the movie three times in the theater paying full ticket price each time. Loved that movie. Still do.

Once I found that out, I watched it again and its so gay. Very gay movie. Still love it, though.

One other funny Chuck story -- I picked up his book Survivor a couple months ago. Coincidentally, my power went out that night and I ended up reading it by the light of an LED headlamp after wrapping up the fridge in a blanket so it would stay cold inside.

If you haven't read the book Fight Club it's very much worth the cover price. Really good stuff.
