$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('smallpoxgirl', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('roccman', 'N')ot from where I was standing.

He called bullshit.
You are not privy to much of what he wrote.

Like I said - not from where I was standing.

Your tenacious rant about NEOPO is very revealing.

I miss Mother Ruby. It's odd but I once saw a woman with a plant booth at an area art festival and she had a poster with the same picture MR used for her avatar. I wanted to ask her if she was Mother Ruby but business was brisk so I didn't get the chance. If I remember correctly, she felt frustrated with all the talk of imminent disaster and while she understood our inevitable future, she was tired of participating on a daily level.

And I miss Gideon. I once dubbed him "the Dr. Laura of Peak oil" because of the high moral ground he defended. Talk about a snarky guy.

I remember when Neopo started losin' it, I was up late talking with him a couple times near the end, I told him the night he asked to get banned that he needed to unplug for awhile and hit the sack, he was really getting out of line. He put some kind of weird poem, chant thing in one of his posts that played whenever you scrolled over it, that shit was annoying, but I dug him before he got super loopy at the end.

Neopo was as effervescent as the bad paper currently burning up on Wall Street. Once it's gone, the world sees more clearly. I don't miss the off target rants concerning make believe. How could a regular here miss that with rocco around? Same show, cast change.

As far as humor, no one, IMHO, topped rogerhb, that bastage.

Y'all mostly chased rockdoc123 away, but I see he's posted in the Saudi Production thread recently.

It's about signal to noise ratio for me - it's been decreasing steadily as expected on the approach to peak.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('eastbay', 'I') miss schwein. The guy was an absolute genius and a total riot at times.

I don't remember too much about the other person... his crimes must have been committed during one of my 'quieter' periods.

Eastbay, for some reason every time I read one of your posts I hear Father Guido Sarducci speaking the words.

I don't know why.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('roccman', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('smallpoxgirl', ' ')He plastered the site with posts accusing the moderators of all sorts of bias and collusion in our moderation decisions and calling us a variety of names.

Not from where I was standing.

He called bullshit.

He IS what most people lack.

He loved to dish it out, but he couldn't even begin to take it. Not even a little bit.

When he posted this horseshit and I pointed out in the first response that it was an ancient Czarist hoax, he responded a bit later with this thread.

Sensitive soul, huh? I guess I hurt his feelings. Poor baby.

Actually Zardose...

From where I am standing you fired the first shot and NEOPO was defending himself.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Zardoz', 'A') hundred years later, people are still falling for this crap.

This is classic PO behavior from the more "veteran" posters...

1) don't read the entire OP...Check

2) fire off a half baked response that puts the poster on the defensive...Check

3) In the passage of time cry foul...Check.

Here is yesterday's example of this behavior from yet another "veteran" poster...

And I can assure you I will not be coming out until AFTER the sky falls AND 6 BILLION go away...will you be one of the 6 Billion garlic for you do not have a spidey hole? One can only hope...

Rocco - lemme explain once again - only imaginary stuff is crashing/disappearing, therefore you won't have much longer to wait. TPTB invented stuff to invest in because there were too many investors (i.e. baby boomers) and not enough investments. They mainly consist of back bets on the main line and mean nothing.

As far as which of your spidey holes I was referring to, I was referring to the one in the ground, not the one in your GF.

Another class act by one of PO's "veteran" posters.

I miss PenultimateManStanding. Not the imposter, post-packing-it-in PMS of today, but the hale and vibrant PMS of yore who regaled our senses so delightfully as our on-site Professor of Humanities.

O! Still through the misty Valhalla of Memory I recall what a treat it was, after a grueling session in that arid Fifth Circle of Hell (also known as "the Depletion Modeling Section') to descend to that cool and verdant Paradise Lost (Open Discussion) to refresh my aching, graph-ravaged squinties on those lovely images of PreRaphaelite damosels by the likes of Waterhouse, Burne-Jones and, dare I say, Rossetti that PMS used to post.

But, alas! Now all is withered, the pitcher lies broken at the well, and the Harp that once through Tara's Halls...

What could have happened? Poster poopout? Infernal intrigues by culture-hating mods? Or a surfeit of absinthe?

Don't we deserve even some occasional crumb of culture-no matter how decadent? A litte Aubrey Beardsley perhaps...

Besides, oowolf, why don't you do it? Why don't you post some Pre-Raphaelite Art? How is it my duty to post beauty? Post something, oowolf, and I'll join in.
