$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '
')It's just a big game. I don't give a shit about the Iraqis because they are not my tribe. If I can get work over there capping 'em, fine. They are right to build every IED, shoot off every RPG, etc. We're the invader. They're the home team. That's how these things work. Look at video of troops fighting over there - they're not going on about the Iraqis being "wrong" to shoot at them, they're just yelling about such and such a group firing at them and firing back.

These are the kind of games humans play when there are too many of us.

Ahhh, now that's what I like to hear. No good no evil, not freedom not democracy, just humans doing what they do best; killing each other for sport. Good for you plant. If you get a chance cap one for us boys at peakoil.com. Maybe we can get a picture of the headshot up in the member’s photos.

I'll be sure to, if I can. I'm not sure if I can get work over there, it's looking doubtful.

But then as I have said many a time, some lefty-lib idiot will say "the US is only good at going over there and bombing brown people" and I'll say, "Darn right, I don't like it either. There are plenty of brown people right here at home that need bombing."

Sorry to here that Plants. I hate to see a born hard killer miss out on the extra "combat pay" not to mention all that joy of killing. Well let's keep our fingers crossed and hope Iran does something stupid and gives the US an excuse to wipe out a few hundred thousand Iranians. I’m sure they are as fun to shoot as Iraqis.
I would like to go with you but it’s more exciting for me to watch both sides slaughter each other while I catch the proverbial “free pass”. You know, zoom around in my big truck and crank my 500 gallon Jacuzzi tub full blast as others pay with their ordinary lives for my glutinous energy bonanza.

I'd rather go around and clean up some old neighborhoods, frankly.

And if we take on Iran, which I'm guessing we're just crazy and desperate enough to do, they're going to be killing off a lot of US.

But it's just games..... funny happy games..... it's what we do....

I'm not going to be a hypocrite about it like my older sis, with her Utne Reader subscription and holier-than-thou "Liberal" politics, when in fact every bonbon she stuffs in her mouth is paid for by military blood money, she married into the military and professes to hate it but she doesn't mind shopping at the PX and all the bennies.

Actually since the Army so far considers me a bit too old I guess that's supposed to be my position in things too. But I've been shot at and all that bullshit stateside, and I know it's not gonna be all beer and skittles here in the states, not forever. I figure it will take somewhere between 10 and 20 years for the actual fighting of WWIII to hit us here in the States, and why travel across the world to shoot 'em if you can shoot 'em right in your own backyard? I can't get away with falsifying my papers and going Over There, so I'll wait for the fun to spread Over Here then do my part I guess.

Plants,

It may take a while and then again a few well placed devices or skirmishes with ugly outcomes in juuuusst the right places and your 10-20 years will turn into 6 months. We are dancing on a very shaky tightrope right now.

I'm sick of listening to others say.."nah, its always been like this". I say "nah, you just aren't paying close attention". It most decidedly is like it never has been in modern times.

We are on the brink. I think we have a shot at things staying on a somewhat even keel but history just doesn't support the optimists.
Mankind is too short sighted, greedy, and downright primitive for things to end up "happy happy joy joy"

I like Angry Chimp's name, its appropriate for all of us.

I have known AC for years on two other boards.

Him and NeoPO could be twins.

No, no, referring to Matt Savinar. I believe he's using "Angry Chimp" as a nom de plume on here.

I use "The Chimp Who Can Drive" as my screen name on The Oil Drum.

"Angry Chimp" has been a long time poster dating back to Jay Hanson's lists.

Woops - my apologies. Hey, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, to someone who likes a guy with extra chins, Matt would have you beat!
