We've had a number of race-related threads on this board, and I want to approach this topic from another angle. It's pretty obvious that there are a lot of racist white people in the United States. More than 70% of Americans (black, white, and mexican) want the illegal aliens sent back to wherever they've come from. That's kind of an asshole move, isn't it.

Also, white people enslaved black people and then wrote jim crow laws and segregated themselves, and all kinds of other KKK badness.

We can all join together and agree that white people are bad.

That said, why is it that blacks and mexicans want to live among white people so badly? Is is the money? Other than money, is there any other reason that blacks and mexicans want to live among whites who clearly don't want them around?

If I was a mexican, I wouldn't...

Actually, I'm going to share a story with you. I worked for a Jew a couple years ago who treated his staff like shit. He belonged to a small sliver of the Jewish community that took great pride in never lifting a finger to do any physical work or to exercise, or to do anything other than study the Torah. This is a small subset of the whole of the Jewish community, so don't generalize this particular asshole to the group. Bottom line, when he reached up and patted me on the shoulder and called me his big strong man, I knew he was calling me his big dumb ox.

Anyway, I figured out his mindset over the course of two or three months. He pulled a couple of really offensive things with me, and I decided I wouldn't drive his ambulance if he was going to treat me that way. I wrote up a formal letter of resignation and slid it under his door giving my two weeks' notice. I'll be damned if I'm going to work for somebody who doesn't respect my labor.

A couple days later, the shift super chirped my Nextel and started to apologize for the boss man. Wait, you mean he heard my complaint and sent his bitch to apologize on his behalf? It was beyond stupid. I told the shift super he was a bitch and that I was out of there, but I would serve my two weeks because that is the right thing to do.

I did my two weeks, giving the big boss man the hairy eyeball every time I saw him. I know he knew I hated him, and I made it worse by turning in perfect paperwork and doing my job competently. He knew he was losing a good employee because he was personally a rotten fuckstick.

Why in the world would black people work for white people who openly dislike them? Why would mexicans work for white people who obviously see them as cheap labor? I wouldn't put up with that shit for a second. I am worthy of respect in the labor marketplace, and I demand of my employers that they treat me with the ordinary, common dignity that a working man is owed.

Now I work for an Armenian-owned company that treats me just fine. I know my wage and I'm OK with it. The management treats me well enough that I'm not looking around for another job. This guy is an Armo from the European side of Armenia, he looks kind of Greek to me. Whatever. Bottom line, he's OK and he appreciates my work. I don't begrudge him his Maserati. If I had a couple million invested in my own business, you're damn right I'd milk a nice car out of it. God bless his nice Maserati, and his kid's Corvette. I'm happy to bring in the money to make his payments for him. He puts out fresh coffee for us, makes sure the ambulances are stocked with everything we need, and doesn't do business with shady hospitals and their Skid Row patients.

I didn't like the shitty treatment I got, so I moved.

Since it's obvious that the US is a racist place, why don't black people move to Africa or any other majority-black place so they don't have to deal with racism? Consider Haiti. Any black person can move to Haiti and live among their own kind and not have any racism to deal with. Isn't that better than being looked down upon?

And why do the mexicans want to leave their own people behind to be used as pack animals? The concept is so revolting to me that I would never do it. I'd rather be poor and dignified than slightly less poor but despised.

Why not go back where you belong and live among your own kind, and be happy there? Do you have a good reason why you don't? Is Africa so bad? Is Mexico so bad?

If those places are so horrible, do you understand why white people object to having black and mexican neighbors?

I think it has to do with the fact that they are cowards who will never come out and say it to your face. It comes out in many small and subtle ways taht aren't so easy to pin point,like your "big dumb ox" episode. So its easy to think its a personality thing, or that (if you are a woman) its somehow, kinda your fault, or that you are over reacting or being hysterical or a bitch (that's a common one).

It gives rise to the old "grass is greener on the otherside" but after a while you realize it isn't so you take the best situation you can, why? becuase its freaking everywhere. Or maybe its like a frog in boiling water.

as in any unequal relationship you know they are assholes and they think this way, but you get used to it over time.

I know one woman who takes it out on them. if they piss her off she'll steal 20 minutes here or there for personal stuff, or take a stapler. I think we all deal with it in out own way.

It seems obvious that different ethnic groups would like to live among their own, they come to the U.S. (or stay) because they can make more money than they can in their home country (or their home country is no longer home because they have been in the U.S. for several generations).

At least for African-Americans, "because it's home". When your family's been somewhere for over 230 years, you have nothing to do with Africa. Most African-American ancestors were here for the revolution. Basically none of mine were. I'd have a real hard time going "back" to Belarus, where much of my family was only 90 years ago.

I think we whites are largely to blame for the current situation, for not being racist enough.

Truly race-proud Whites would want an all-White society, with Whites doing every job, lowest to highest. The idea some Whites have that some types of work are below them disgusts me.

A truly White society would be a thriving one, a safe one, a one in which a person could rise according to their abilities. And if the hight of their ability is to wash dishes, well, they'd be a happy dishwasher! The fellow who used to run the excellent site faem.com used to comment on that, how in the all-White town of his childhood, some made more money and some made less but no one really gave much of a damn compared to how money-obsessed and Jewified our society has become now.

We have got to root out this idea, foreign to me but apparently prevelent, that certain types of work are "below" us Whites, and thus we have to have nonwhites around to do it.

haha they call Arabs "hadji" which is actually an honorable term, it means one who's been on the Hajj, which is the holy duty of every Moslem. But they don't *mean* it as an honorable term! Still, I'm kinda glad we Americans don't know any good honest insulting Arab terms, and in choosing the name of Johnny Quest's turban-wearing pal, they're actually using a term which is not so bad really.
