Best of 2007: Best Sig Line

Unread postby smallpoxgirl » Thu 03 Jan 2008, 00:14:17

OK guys. Same rules as last year. Use this thread to make nominations for "Best Sig Line of 2007". This category is for a poster. Please include the text of the sig you want to nominate. You can make as many nominations as you like. Please feel free to second, third, etc, other people's nominations. After 10 days (i.e. on January 12), I will close nominations and make the top nominated posters into a poll so people can vote. The poll will run another 10 days and on January 22, we'll announce the winner.

Last year's winner in this category was Holmes with "Crush the Cornucopians, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of their women".

Good Luck everyone

I can't remember who uses it but I remember Pops wrote it , (to the best of my memory);" Firefights with starving hordes of blister-footed suburbanites is pretty far down on my to do list "

Since we're all doing self-nominations, I nominate mine, since I think it sums up the destructive force of the western draw-down and take-over culture that's put us in this position.

My two nominations are:

Zardoz: "Thank you for attending the oil age. We're going to scrape what we can out of these tar pits in Alberta and then shut down the machines and turn out the lights. Goodnight." - seldom_seen

Twighlight: "I hate to sound pessimistic on this, but based on my few minutes of research, I have to say that a lot of people are going to die."
- pup55

I guess seldom_seen and pup55 should get the credit, though. I like this trend of using other posters' statements as sig lines.

"The People have spoken, the bastards!" pretty much sums up my view of the USA since Bush got his second term. For this reason, it sticks in my head much more than anyone else's sig line.

On the other hand, I would give honorable mention to, "Peakoil.com is the Myspace of the Apocalypse." I think that should be posted in the website's header like a motto. Brilliant and true! Who was it that said that?

Rocc wants me to be the poster if the year. I know it's not going to happen. But having the best sig line is pretty cool.

I saw a great one the other day but forgot to nominate it, something about humans being the kudzu ape. That cracked me up. I guess it's too late now.
