Just listened to a BBC radio play called "A Second To Midnight", first mainstream peak oil story I've heard. It's fictional, about a leading petroleum geologist who writes a report describing peak oil and then gets bought off to not publish it. His daughter marries a leader of a Nigerian resistance group fighting the big oil companies. Intrigue, etc. Pretty good play.
I downloaded it off Usenet, may be available from the BBC, not sure, but interesting to see this stuff finally hitting the popular media.
