Excellent mention, Plants. That violin player of his, Grapelli, got pretty famous too.
minor swing[/quote]
Yeah, Stephane Grapelli. I was taking violin lessons and renting a fiddle. Of course the implosion of my biz and my life meant I had to return it, and as for the lessons, I could have done as well watching Yehudi Menuhin's videos he did for the BBC in the 60s.
I found the violin not too hard, and it's small and easy to carry - you get a lot of sound out of that little box. Easy on the hands too.
But, no money for one now if I want to try playing some of those riffs.
I was looking at stuff on playing the musical saw today .... the present God of the musical saw is a professional orchestra oboe player, so he's a GOOD musician, who picked up the saw. He's just using a Stanley from the hardware store, nothing special - even still says Stanley on the side.
I know they'd go apeshit over a good saw player out here. It astounds me that Santa Cruz has a statue of a saw player there but NO SAW PLAYER you'd think the place would be thick with 'em.
Saw, theremin, violin. voice - you have to know where you are and if you're sharp or flat - apparently that's a hell of a filter which most can't get through.
OK a FUN band too many people are forgetting, Man OR Astro-Man? Look up on YouTube, "Theme From EEVIAC" and "9 Volt" great stuff!
