Thanks comrade threadbear... it wasn't easy finding a design that was small enough to fit... and I don't know how to 'shrink' them yet.

Comrade PMS, I don't like to post my b'day cuz there's always some freak who will use it in an unkind manner... so I'll pm you (cuz I happen to trust you) a strange numerical combination regarding my b'day.

I'm 18. My Mom calls me 'sweetie' and my Dad still buys the child proof lighters.

Sliced bread and mayonnaise sandwiches, twenty five cent movie tickets and nineteen cent gas, Joe McCarthy, the Cuban missile crisis, the assassination of Kennedy and King, the riots, race wars, Vietnam, yup we remember. This doomer stuff, nothing knew. We were planning for the end of the world in 1960.

We didn't start the fire.

It was always burning since the worlds were turning.

We didn't start the fire. No, we didn't light but we tried to fight it.

Sorry, that post just reminded me of the song.
I want to put out the fires of Hell, and burn down the rewards of Paradise. They block the way to God. I do not want to worship from fear of punishment or for the promise of reward, but simply for the love of God. - Rabia

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Cloud9', '.').. This doomer stuff, nothing knew. We were planning for the end of the world in 1960.

In the ‘70s too:

ZPG, SDS, Duck and Cover, Run Through The Jungle, Black Panthers, The Population Bomb, "I am not a crook", Iranian Revolution, The Cache Program, Earth Day, Catch 22, fallout shelters, Foxfire, Mi Lai, MEN (before gloss stock), Munich Olympics, Tet, Stagflation, Khmer Rouge, LA Freeway, Prime above 20%, Brenton Woods (sp?), Limits To Growth...

Oh and gas lines.
The legitimate object of government, is to do for a community of people, whatever they need to have done, but can not do, at all, or can not, so well do, for themselves -- in their separate, and individual capacities.

OK guys. I will be 64 in March. I believe that is oldest so far of the (realistically) stated ages. Sorry thuga, with all due respect I don't believe you. And no, I did not know Moses personally, only the occasional rumor. I am old enough to be most of your fathers. I will concur with most of the older among us that chronological age has no bearing on internal age. I have been 19 and counting for decades.

I am old enough that my wife calls me a "fake boomer." I will say also that with the world situation being what it is, I think it is time for me to grow up.

I have decided that I would definitely be willing to share my Social Security check. You would have to work it off though. For any of you young bucks who would be willing to live for room-and-board on my place and help with chores and such.

There are probably ones on this site who are older than I am. But you have to understand that we have a difficult time mastering these new fangled computer machine things. Now a wind-up Victrola, that I can operate.

Old enough to remember iceboxes, crank phones, grocery stores that made deliveries, Rootie Kazootie the boy who is full of zip and joy, the Edsel, Bert the turtle, Nervous Norvus, Scooter Pie, Infantile paralysis (I had it during the '52 epidemic), and the shoe-fitting fluoroscope:http://www.orau.org/ptp/collection/shoefittingfluor/shoe.htm
