What if you took a generator, and generated electricity with it, but also used it to heat your home?
I mean, generators are only like 50% efficient at most. In this case the waste heat would be used to heat your home during the Winter. This would mean that you'd produce large amounts of cheap electricity, which you could sell back to the power company, and because they only get about 50% efficiency with their generators, you might be selling energy at a lower cost.
So with soaring energy bills, you might be able to pay for your own fuel oil with the profits from the energy you sell.
What do you think?
