Bas,

Why should Americans give any money to anyone. BOOHOO the US doesn't give my country 1 trillion dollars.

If it were up to me, nobody would get any mother fucking aid!!!

BTW, before I get into this part of the tirade against you(the us is evil)

The rest of the world bashes the united states for being fat, lazy, and evil but the second the damn collection plate starts going around everyone has there hand out to get some of the evil US money.

The US may be evil, and stupid but you are all a bunch of fucking hypocrites. You can' t bash the United States one second and then two seconds later turn around and ask for a handout.

Oh why doesn't the US give more BOOHOO my question is why are we giving out any to begin with??!?!?!?!?!?

I haven't been reading this thread so maybe this has been mentioned. IMO it is somewhat cruel to provide ongoing aid that supports and increases populations of a country much beyond what they could reasonably support.

It is different to provide aid in disaster recovery or to help out with some short term hardship. I thought after the Tsunami, the US was pretty generous. You have to look at private donations through NGOs as well as direct government aid.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('culicomorpha', 'B')as, I don't think we are winning any popularity contests. In fact, quite the contrary.

This government has shown a pretty consistent pattern of ignoring world opinion and 'going it alone.' There was a hilarious bit on 'Daily Show with Jon Stewart' recently, where he talked about the "coalition of the willing." He pointed out that the numbers were like 95% US involvement in Iraq, and the next largest group of soldiers, the UK, had around 5500 troops, but the Parliament was cutting that by 2500 or so, making US involvement more like 98%. Finland, if I recall correctly, was counted among the "coalition," but was represented by a single woman, who had since returned home.
So much for the coalition of the willing.

I'm ashamed to say that my country was one of the bigger contributors to that war, and even more ashamed to say that "they" refuse an inquiry about how we got into it on false pretenses. (Holland was in charge of the sparsely populated southwestern province but has been out for some time now)
