To come to cowteat's defense, I'd say that if they could engineer another bubble (maybe another tech bubble) that might increase foreign investor demand for US assets and therefore actually provide some support to the dollar. But I think at this point investor sentiment has changed and foreigners are tired of being taken to the cleaners. Gold is doing well, but I'm no longer batting for singles and doubles and triples. I'm going for grand slams with junior canadian mining companies.

He owes me two keyboards.

What crowned the moment is this being page 14 of the nth thread on this. Seriously, it's not often I laugh hysterically while reading this site.

Wow! that's exactly what they were saying would happen if the dollar kept dropping on BBC.

So what's the Neocon's next move? Bomb Iran? Would that help?

You know whats sad? I keep checking gold and seeing it go up and up and then I convert it to canadian dollars and I've been stuck around $750 for at least the last week.

In other words gold hasn't moved. It's that crap american dollar that is moving.

JUst a psychological thing I would guess.

Bendover is likely to say - "we have experts on this...concerned, but still strong growth...blah...blah...blah"

Gold at $800 says "Holy fucking hell the sky is falling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Now how bout:

$800 gold on Wednesday and $100 oil on Wednesday and Bendover saying. "yeppers...noth'n to see here folks...move along now"....

Bwhahahhahahahahahahahhahah!!!

Fuckheads the whole lot...

Actually now I can laugh my ass off at people 5 years ago that said gold is dead!!!

Exactly. When I bought gold a while back I was dreading this might happen. However....I think what is going to happen next, is the Canadian central bank will start moving interest rates down, synchronized with the U.S. We're very dependant on the U.S, still, even though we're less reliant than in the past.

I can't see our fed doing anything other than working in tandem with the U.S. on devaluation of both currencies. Otherwise we go 2 to 1, and then what? My income is in Yankee bucks. 8O Gold better, at the very least, maintain a 1 to 1 with the Canadian dollar.
