Hmmm. Well call me ignorant, because I cant think of the last time a corporation was found guilty of manslaughter.

I can't remember the outcome but I believe a company got charged with corporate manslaughter over here due to poor maintenance of the rail tracks at Potters Bar, leading to a disaster where loads of people died.

Like I said I can't remember the outcome but there was deffinately a charge.

When? Last year? Last decade? 100 years ago?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Grifter', 'H')owever, when a corporation is guilty of manslaughter, even if it is largely the fault of bad managers/executives then there is rarely an individual who is held accountable.

In the case of individuals there is always someone to blame and face the law.

You've shifted your complaint about corporations from a lack of accountability for accidents to the absence of accountability amoung corporate executives for manslaughter.

Manslaughter is not the same as an accidental death. This is a whole new subject.

What exactly are you complaining about? Can you give an example of case involving "manslaughter" or are you just confused about the meaning of manslaughter versus an accidental death?

Yes I am confused and not ashamed. I thought they were virtually the same. It was just a point, I am complaining about the fact that corporations have more influence than me.

Specop, It was about 2 years ago. Actually just found out it was 5 years ago.

the article (I think) doesn't mention the manslaughter charge. I know there was one and will find it another day.

I'm not a lawyer, don't know enough about manslaughter. I got sidetracked.

Edit: spent ages looking for the case and it seems the manslaughter charge didn't stick. Many relatives very unhappy.

It also seems that corporations virtually never get found guilty of this. So...erm....make of that what you will. I certainly didn't think that was the case.
