Peakoil.com Character Representations

Unread postby PenultimateManStanding » Thu 27 Sep 2007, 21:16:49

I made the inexcusable error of mistaking Mercurygirl for Wildrose. And it's true that there aren't nearly as many women here as there are men. But that got me to thinking, how would I briefly characterize those here with whom I am familiar. So here it is: Monte: Boy Scout Imperator. Heineken: sensitive loner. Raph: unknown. Aaron: nihilist techno-geek. PMS: resident drunkard. Ludi: I think I'll leave this one alone. Dinopello: hey bro, thanks for keeping that thread going, even if I rarely like your music posts. Neo/Morpheus: what ever happened to him anyway? That guy sure likes to scrap. Boogieman with the dancing cat: My favorite. Threadbear: Moral Crusader. Holmes: I could spel if I wanted to, but this world is focked. Madpaddy: What can you say, the guy is mad as a hatter. Matt Savinar: evil opportunist (just kidding Matt, but I will always be suspicious of Lawyers). Kylon: unhinged. Jack: heh heh, twisted evildoer that can make you laugh while he plans for who knows what. Sinisterbluecat: Elegant Equestrian with a tough biker husband. FranktheTank: happily married young guy who secretly lusts after Brazilian tarts. That's some talent. There are others I should mention, but there are 330 pages of members to this forum. I have only a vague impression of a few of you.

Of all the possible respondents, you would be the one. I noted that you didn't say anything but chose to just post an emoticon.

I don't mean to pick on you, Ludi. I know very personally the ravages of mental illness. What more can I say? My brothers are both taking drugs to avoid panic attacks. What am I doing? Getting drunk as often as I can and still keep the show going.

I know I should tell you to fuck yourself, Jack. But somehow I can't do it. I don't think anyone has made me laugh as much as you have. I hope you have a million bucks when this is all over. Perhaps you can spend it on a bullet or two.

Of course you are memorable. Anyone who could suggest that maybe we could all just start knackin' on cancer tumors is unique and memorable. :) And for soap, we can recycle the fat at the liposuction clinics. Was that you that wants to get the hydrocarbons from the moons of Jupiter? I know it was you who thinks the solution is for us to build floating colonies on the ocean. Keep up the good work, Kylon. mmmmm... liver cancer with hollandaise sauce and a glass of Chianti! That's for me!

So...

Fuck yourself.

What the point??!! You ask what is the point of clever and deeply moving. There's still another 4 or 5 billion years left to go on this rock. I hope that just before the Sun explodes there are creatures around with enough intelligence to be clever and deeply moving.
