Hand crank blender?

Unread postby Narz » Mon 17 Sep 2007, 04:02:52

Anyone own one? Or any kind of modified blender (I saw one at an event once rigged to a stationary bicycle).

Might sound frivolousness but with the absence of vitamins & pharmaceuticals the juicing of greens & herbs (grind, add a little water and then strain) could save lives. Especially lives detoxing off years of eating, breathing & living in our sick world and starved for nutrition (the three year old barrel of rice in your cellar may provide calories but probably not much else).

Anyway, let me know if you've used something like this and where you got it (or how you made it if you made it).

T'anks!

What about one of these?

The French call them Moulins a Legumes (this site doesn't seem to allow accents btw). There's loads here:

My wife uses one regularly, and our soups and purees are lovely.

That's those look much more durable than the one hand crank blender I saw.

Food mill seems to be the best English search term.

I had (have, actually, it's in the bug out locale) one of these, and it is amazing! Incredibly well made, durable and can even blend ice. There's nothing even close as far as I am concerned.

Thanks for the review, I've read a couple of negative ones saying some of the plastic on it got cracked or something (can't seem to find the review now) but more positive than negative overall.

I eat alot of greens but don't have a garden this fall (I planted one in Utah but left before I could appreciate it). Next year I'll have tons of that stuff. :)
