"Network" is one my favorites. I hope you enjoy these clips.

"You get up on your little twenty-
one inch screen, and howl about
America and democracy. There is no
America. There is no democracy.
There is only IBM and ITT and A T
and T and Dupont, Dow, Union Carbide
and Exxon. Those are the nations of
the world today. What do you think
the Russians talk about in their
councils of state -- Karl Marx?
They pull out their linear
programming charts, statistical
decision theories and minimax
solutions and compute the price-cost
probabilities of their transactions
and investments just like we do. We
no longer live in a world of nations
and ideologies, Mr. Beale.
The
world is a college of corporations,
inexorably deter- mined by the
immutable by-laws of business. The
world is a business, Mr. Beale! "

"We're in the boredom killing business!" That's a good line. I think I'll rent that movie and kill a couple hours. Recently I re-watched a couple of my old favorites, the first Terminator flick and Titanic. I still like those movies. I tried watching Braveheart again but except for that beautiful Scottish bride (loveliest smile I've ever seen) I found watching Mel Gibson and all the carnage tedious.

Usually I edit posts that I refer to, but these are all good, except, I've never seen Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Is it really good? The title turned me off. btw, James Cameron is a genius. The sequel to Alien, Aliens was just as good, maybe even better, than the original, a rare feat.

Yeah , I got aliens top shelf, alien second shelf , but it's close. The original first Texas massacre is the one I'm talking about , something undefinable makes it creepy beyond most other horror flicks. Forgot top shelf ; the exorcist , the omen Second shelf ; the sentinal , rosemary's baby, I'm sure I'll think of more by tomorrow. Exorcist is my all time scariest movie.

It's ultra low-budget but I thought set up a lot of tension - mostly before the killings.

Those action flicks are great, but one of my favorites of all time is Dr. Strangelove.

Requiem for a dream was heavy , very dark , very sad but Jennifer Connelly is excellent in it. I know I've seen donnie darko but can't remember it, was that with jake jillinhoff ?

Yes she was and that was indeed a dark flick. She really got my attention with her performance in Blood Diamond, the best movie of recent years, in my opinion. Sometimes all it takes is one special performance to make you stand up and say wow, that's talent.

Saw Seven Samurai recently, excellent flick.

Another I can highly recommend:

The Jacket. Adrian Brody was very good in that.

My are kind of safe picks. It's basically a three-way tie between Pulp Fiction, Full Metal Jacket and the Exorcist. I really enjoyed the non-scary scenes in the Exorcist. My favorite scene being the first encounter between Father Damien and Det. Kinderman.

-The Good German
Not because it was a good movie, or that I'd even seen the movie for that matter. I just thought the title was a funny contradiction of terms.

-Kids/Children on Fire
Interesting show, I'm not one for religious debate so I can't say it surprised me to any major extent, besides the obvious absurdities.

"Who's Afraid Of Viginia Woolf?" - Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor at their absolute best.

"Patton" - Lots of pundits feel that George C. Scott's performance might be the greatest acting job in the history of motion pictures. He's just amazing.

"2001 - A Space Odyssey" - No movie ever had anything like the effect that one did on me.

"Dr. Zhivago" - The prototypical historical drama. I've been desperately in love with Julie Christie ever since.

"Young Frankenstein" - The funniest motion picture ever made.

"Raging Bull" - DeNiro's best performance. Incredible movie.

"Notorious" - Hitchcock's great spy thriller. Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman. Any questions?
