RICHLAND, Wash. (AP) -- High winds pushed a wildfire onto the Hanford nuclear reservation on Thursday, forcing all but essential employees home from the site and leaving firefighters scrambling to stop the blaze from spreading farther. …

I read some years ago that the radioactive tank farms are releasing hydrogen.

If I recall correctly that Los Alamos engineers designed special spark-free fans to blow the [radioative] hydrogen into the atmosphere.

Concern was that if hydrogen in one of these tanks exploded, then it would spread a high radioactive plume northeast toward Spokane, WA.

Poor little chukars. I used to see them walk by my place sometimes. I guess they will be glowing now and easier to see in the early morning.
