So you oppose State's rights (The Tenth Amendment, Bill of Rights, and United States Constitution) because the federal government has greater demand for ammunition during wartime?

what i am saying is...if my state is struggling just to get ammunition to function daily...all the while 'puff the magic dragon' is following mr. bush around just because and just in case...

i do not see how there is a lot of hope for 'states rights' ...especially my state.

I don't know anything about Puff the Magic Dragon so I can't comment on that. You'll have to consult Zenu on that one but make sure you wear your tinfoil hat to block out the gamma rays.

If you really believe in State's rights, and I must confess I have my doubts about that, then people like you and me and other Americans are the only hope left for the Tenth Amendment, Bill of Rights, and United States Constitution. You should know that the federal government is opposed to the Tenth Amendment, Bill of Rights, and United States Constitution.

Look no further than the Ashcroft/Gonzales Vs. Raich case in which so-called "Justices" Breyer, Ginsburg, and Scalia joined hands to sacrifice liberty on the altar of Socialism.

Surely the Secret Service has nothing to do with the supply demand equation for ammunition in Wisconsin. The demand is for ammunition in Iraq. But it sounds more like incompetence in Wisconsin causing the supply shortage if you ask me.

In Seattle we have our own little mini-baghdad DMZ right in the central retail/tourist zone. Shootings, stabbings, muggings, gang-bangers, junkies, dealers. All in broad daylight during bankers hours.

A cop will bust a yuppie for jaywalking, while behind him a mob of homies will be pounding someone in to the pavement.

It's not an ammo issue, but it is surreal. It's like a slow motion Katrina minus the hurricane and floods. The city and state have become so hyper-sensitized, emasculated and invertebrate you could give them all the ammunition in the world and they would be scared to open the boxes.

This is why I usually pick "Mad Max" on the polls about the future, because I see it unfolding in front of my eyes.

In the event of some major problem where the token police forces of Seattle are occupied or incapacitated. I predict most of downtown Seattle will be looted and burned down within 12-24 hours.

That's the most insightful thing I've read in weeks. The wrong side won that fight, for sure.

The confederacy was defeated at Appomattox.

That isn't the same thing as the rights reserved to states under the U.S. constitution. 8)

Correct. But it proved conclusively that, no matter what the Constitution might say, states in reality only have the "rights" that the federal government is willing to let them have.

No it didn't. The status of "State's rights" are defined by the U.S. Constitution, as interpreted by the U.S. Supreme Court.

There are constantly legal arguments over the extent of federal authority and state's rights. The limits are decided by the Supreme Court. The interpretation of State's rights changes with the politics of the Court. For instance, the current Supreme court is somewhat friendlier to state's rights then some prior courts. 8)
