Hello, I am doing research on current construction costs for various equipment in the oil sector. E.g. the cost of jackup, pipeline, etc.

As you may well know, the prices on these capital building blocks have spiralled upwards in the past few years. For example, as CERA/IHS's index UCCI (Upstream Capital Costs Index) suggests, the actual inflation in this sector was close to 53% in the past two years alone.

Hence, I would like to ask if any forum members are able to help me with the research? I haven't had any problems with jackup data as several companies maintain databases. I am running into a problem with respect to production platforms and pipelines. So if you know of some databases that contain current and historical costs for either of these, I will be grateful if you can post here or send me an email at sultano@gmail.com

Thanks again. I've checked the links, but not sure if they are relevant for pipelines...

I'm interested in ballpark figure for shallow-water crude oil pipeline cost per inch-km. I realize the true cost will depend on many factors, but a rough number would suffice for my needs.

Now, KinderMorgan does have non-gas pipeline, but it is for products and not crude.

Simmons & Co and Howard Weil are investment bankers.. so they are mostly into M&A and I doubt they will know of construction costs.
