What really made me sick was to watch average joes out in California dig their own graves. Lots of cops, nurses and mailmen owe half a million dollars in debt got into a cycle of habitual refinance. My job was to verify inacuracies in credit reports and order flood certifications. I remember looking at their credit reports thinking their was no way they could ever pay this off in their lifetime.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'H')oping to slow the quickening pace of home foreclosures, about a half-dozen states are setting up funds to help homeowners with high-risk subprime mortgages refinance to more-affordable loans.

This is just great - our tax dollars going to bail out the fool borrowers and the pig nosed bankers. I'd rather just drive through a poor neighborhood and throw my money out of the car window.

Sadly, it's "par for the course" from our mob-rule politicians.

Apparently no one has told the fascist illuminate queen the bankers would need another few zeros after that just to carry the market for a few more months.

This game is over.

Just shows how truely detached our idiot "leaders" are.

Goddamn, how do I get in on it? I already own my POS house. Will her plan cover me on a fantastic vacation property that I can't begin to afford? Or will it be limited to a primary residence?

Maybe I can just take out a mortgage backed loan, then blow all the money doing lines of crack off of gay prostitutes' butt cheeks. Then I'll NEED government assistance.

Gideon, am glad to see there is someone who detests her even more than I do!

My prediction is this time next year she will not be the democratic candidate. She is very unpopular in the south, looked on as something of a carpetbagger. I also don't think she will score very strongly in my state California either, where she has to.

I feel she is nothing more than a female George Bush, interested only in power. Their stances are the same on globalization; they're both enthusiastic cheerleaders for it, regardless of how it has destroyed America’s infrastructure. Both supported going into a war in Iraq, and she has no plans that I can see to get out. From what I've been able to ascertain she has NO positions on the energy future, not even bad ones!

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'S')enator Hillary Rodham Clinton, the Democratic front-runner, recently proposed a $1 billion fund to help distressed families catch up on their mortgage payments.

Not much of a bailout. That's going to be what, one payment courtesy of the taxpayer and the following month the fundamentals will have magically changed? The rate will not reset, the breadwinner will not lose his/her job, food and energy price inflation won't continue? Fat chance. It's pissing into a hurricane.

I agree by the way, she wants it too much.

Hillary Wants Your Money
I hate Hillary the Whore almost as much as I hate Bill and George, but her ingrained socialist tincture definitely adds levels to my dislike.
You have absolutely got to love the f----ing socialism.
We will be "helping distressed families".
Hah!
What we will be doing is . . .
Subsidizing the irresponsible behaviour of financial morons.

My idiot neighbors are wastrels who spend money on crap like satellite TV and big big SUVs and I get to bail them out, courtesy of the big Whore, who is sure to be our next president and will likely rival her whore of a husband when it comes to "suck any ----" to stay in office.[b]

Hilary a socialist...lol....about as likely as Castro being a conservative. She's just a smart old capitalist up to the usual tricks.

*sigh* I can't say as I did not expect this. It will not work.

So I am going to pay to keep people in their home a month longer. I really want them to get booted. Even the people that where innocent and looking to get their first home.

Tough lesson.

Why not?

What's one more billion in a $10 trillion federal debt?

you do understand that this is just a politician trying to buy votes, right?

No different than George W. offering tax cuts. Or McCain trying to increase "support" for military families. It all boils down to vote buying. 1 billion is a drop in the bucket, but these loser homeowners might...key word...MIGHT vote for Hillary if she gets the nomination. If she becomes president, you can bet it will be put to the sidelines.

I am sure every other politico in Washington is trying to find a way to buy a few votes by supporting this as well.

Hillary is just one of very many. Republican, Democrat, conservative, liberal. They are all idiots who think pretending to spend money on the working class or middle class will get them somewhere. Usually it does, sad to say.

But I hope she gets some backlash for this. That bitch is probably worse than George W. At least George had some experienced staff at the beginning of his term. I can't imagine the ninnys this woman will hire to help her.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('SILENTTODD', 'I') feel she is nothing more than a female George Bush, interested only in power.

I pretty much agree... while I have trouble believing anyone could possibly be as bad as the circus train wreck we've got now, she is oh so ambitious, and much more intelligent than he is -- which in some ways could make her even more dangerous.

The historian in me is utterly fascinated by that woman. The social liberal in me would love to vote for the first woman president. But as a citizen, she scares me some.

Gideon, I wouldn't underestimate Hillary's ability to get out the Republican vote. A lot of people feel the way you do. While I'm not as concerned about 'socialists' as you are, I agree she's dangerous -- and I wouldn't vote for her. I do hope the Dems wind up going with someone else, although that's looking unlikely at this stage. I may wind up doing another dumb third-party protest vote, like I did in 2000. Oh well.

I used to thought Ronald Reagan was mediocre. But ever since he left office each replacement just gets dumber and dumber. I now think he's the best president we had since Abraham Lincoln.

I despise Hillary more so then "Bush and co.".

I still have bitter memories against that stunt she tried to pull with the "universal health care" proposal awhile back. The USA does not need another "Liberal income redistribution program".

I think it would leave "mob rule democracy" in the scapepile of history (although it's 99% of the way there already).

I realise most people are asleep, but if there is a rat causing a stink, someone will smell it. Just wondering what it would take, whether this would be enough to get at least some people scratching their heads.

Haha, perhaps so. Still, it's going to be weird in 2016 looking back on three decades of Bushes and Clintons, on this side of the Atlantic at least. But I guess if people at that point have never known anything different...

Hmm...this is really surprising hatred for someone who isn't even a party leader yet. I believe I saw a chart a while back that showed that Bill Clinton was reducing the gov't debt? Didn't he have great educational proposals and health care plans (some of which got killed in Congress). Why all the dislike? - I would think ppl here are so concerned about gov't debt, its mentioned in practically EVERY thread.

Did you ever think that maybe the reason presidents get progressively worse is that 1) Americans don't care as long as they are increasingly well fed (even overweight) and full of consumer gadets and 2) the over exposure of the position?

Roosevelt had the "New Deal" and thats all he has to do for his entire term to go down in history as a great president. What else did he do? Oh yeah, he made millions during the Great Depression...

I'm not American but I have to say I wouldn't want to be president of your country. No wants to full the pain any "correction" is going to require. And no one is going to be pay for your campaign to do it. Its the process and the system thats dysfunctional - not the clogs in the wheels.
