Its hard to take people seriously who complain about being "desensitized to violence" and are afraid of being "programmed" by the Transformer movie when they clearly couldn't wait to go to their local movie theater on opening weekend and voluntarily paid 10 bucks to see computer generated robots fight other computer generated robots in the Transformers movie.

If you are so afraid of the movie and its effect on your impressionable mind, then don't go.

Personally, I think its just a typical Hollywood superhero disaster movie 8)

YES, There definately will be a Transformers II and III an i wouldn't be a bit surprised to see a Transformers XXV (if i live that long) :)

See pstar, you made me have to go and agree with Plantagenet. See what you made me do?

Seriously, you expect a culture to just go out without a fight? Mother culture is alive and well. And she is nothing if not entertaining. So if I enjoy my last view of a dying culture, what is the harm? I'm not buying into the idea of having special feelings of friendship for my car. Frankly I'm more likely to want to kick the damn thing, it costs way to much money to keep but I have no public transport worth a damn to replace it.

That, and it's my childhood man. I've been watching those cartoons since I can remember.

Might not like this, but i thought the acting was horrible! Horrible!
I guess i'm more of a comedy guy.

The special effects were great, to be expected, but the acting...ahhh...wasn't the dad the same guy George Costanza "slipped a mickey" in a "Seinfeld" episode? That kid should stick to "Boy Meets World" or where ever he came from. The girl was hot, i will say that...very hot.

I grew up with Transformers, but i think i remember the cartoon being better!

What next "He-man"!

I saw "Alvin and the Chipmunks" is coming out this Christmas.

I also saw "Knocked Up". Highly recommended if you plan on overpopulating the planet even more and its funny.

I just came back. I give it 8/10.

I agree the acting sucked. The teenage main character did a good job, but the rest :(

The movie seemed rushed. They could have taken another 30 minutes to tell the story better.

Optimus Prime's voice brought back some childhood memories.

The plot in Transformer (the movie) is like the plot in a pron movie.

I'm surprise that I didn't hear them say "We are fighting to gain control of 'All Sperm Whales' . Who ever so gain control of the 'All Sperm Whales' gains the ability to multiple. "

It's just there as an icing on a cake.

The real reason anyone would watch the movie is for the action and the computer graphics. Unless you have me believe that people watch prawn movies for the plot.

After seeing it i realized that they did not show a lot of humans dying. Hence the pg-13 ranking to draw kids in I suppose. I was expecting war of the worlds and got something much different. I loved it and thought the graphics were amazing. I wished i had not destroyed my transformers I had when I was a kid. I'm sure they are worth alot now. Along with my collection of star wars action figures from the 80s. I thought the Secretary of Defense looked eerily similar to Don Rumsfield. It was funny every one in the theater was in their 30s and when Optimus prime transformed for the first time the whole theater erupted with clapping and yelling. It was truly surreal. I recommend this movie for the effects and the nostalgia.
