Lieberman is a pro-war democrat.

He is very liberal on social issues and moderately liberal on economic issues.

He just happens to be conservative on issues of military spending.

That doesn't make him a Republican.

Heck, listen to some of his positions as stated by OnTheIssues.org:

Rated 100% by NARAL, indicating a pro-choice voting record. (Dec 2003)
Day 1: Repeal the Bush restrictions on stem cell research. (Jan 2004)
Democrats will expand prosperity, GOP will “squander” it. (Aug 2000)
Sunset the Patriot Act. (Nov 2003)
Rated 25% by the US COC, indicating an anti-business voting record. (Dec 2003)
Voted NO on extending the tax cuts on capital gains and dividends. (Nov 2005)
Rated 100% by the ARA, indicating a pro-senior voting record. (Dec 2003)
Raise minimum wage to $7.00. (Jan 2004)
Rated 100% by APHA, indicating a pro-public health record. (Dec 2003)
Safe havens: Ban guns in schools and churches. (Apr 2000)

I could go on and on.

This guy is a true blue Democrat on everything but military issues.

It's not Lieberman's fault that the Democrat Party moved leftward, Joe's been

Joe Lieberman's Voting Record

With regards to that last statement "Safe havens: Ban guns in schools and churches. (Apr 2000)", I couldn't disagree more.

When thinking about Our Lord and Savior and what he would do in any given situation, I immediately think about what caliber firearm he would take with him to church or to his 7th grade English lesson.

Lieberman is a leftwing lunatic, I can't believe that there are people out there who don't carry fully-automatic rifles with hollow-tip armor-piercing rounds to Sunday School.

The enemies of the Lord are numerous and we must be protected at all times.

Therefore I recommend the Heckler & Koch MP5. Although its firepower is limited to 3-shot bursts, the stopping power of a 9X19 mm Luger round should be enough to take out even the most determined Satanist. The attractive look of the rifle, along with the almost endless variety of attachments and accessories makes this rifle a must for all True Believers.

Reports of Joe's demise appear to have been greatly exaggerated:

Republicans for Lieberman?

Like rwwff said, it looks like Joe took a standing 8-count, rather than a knockout. He's still kickin'.

Actually, there are three candidates that oppose the backing of Israel in this conflict.

one
two
three

The third guy is great as he is asking for the abolition of the cia and the nsa, the impeachment of bush/cheney, the "release" of wolfowitz from the imf, put congress in charge of the federal reserve, cut military spending 15% year over year, and to top it all off -- Create a national program to redesign suburbia to lower the cost of transportation, heating, and construction. Wow, nothing like taking the mafia head on, he'll be shot if he ever makes it.

Remember, his own party kicked him to the curb in the last election. Make no mistake, this guy is a DINO (not even that, really) in neocon shoes.

Joe lost the democratic primary election, but now Joe is treated as a democrat in good standing by his fellow democrats in the US Senate. He voted for Harry Reid as Senate leader, he is part of the democratic caucus in the Senate and he was placed in charge of a powerful Senate committee by the democrats. 8)

Yep, and I couldn't be happier with the Democrats' performance in Congress thus far. They've done EVERYTHING they've promised us and set out to do once they secured their elected positions. More importantly, the Democrats have not backed down on ANYTHING, and held their ground against the overzealous nature of Bush and his Cabinet, helping lead our nation to a brighter day!

If your sarc meter is in the shop, it's really simple...
republicans=democrats

Every election year, we suspect the game has changed and there are two distinct parties with differing goals and ambitions, with one surely to represent our own wishes, and every election year, we take it on the chin, only to have the infamous blue dress thrown back in our face after the deed has been done.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('ferrelgiraffe', 'W')hat would we do if some mideast country held elections and all the candidates are for invading merca?

Umm...Is this a trick question? We'd invade them obviously. Actually that's almost what happened to Iran. They held an election and elected a government hostile to the US. So now we want to invade, err excuse me, *liberate* them.

We need "Nuremberg" style trials for America's regime criminals -- all of them with the exception of people like Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich.

If you are an American politician and you weren't kicking and screaming against these armed robberies in Iraq and Afghanistan, you are a damned criminal.

They're almost all gobbling down great enormous corporate cock every step of the way. Repugs are sure making the most of that though, what kickass scandals. mlf45 = "hey i got some pnac contribs maybe play doctor lol lol lol?" Only guy the Demz have that can keep up is William Jefferson "Money's in the Freezer" Clinton.

If you Google Saber Rattling you get lots of hits on Iran. Let's keep in mind that Joe only wants to conduct some airstrikes.

Edited for URL scripting problem - thanks for pointing that out, Turtle.

Joe's a moron, dangerous only because the Dems cannot excommunicate him or they will lose their functioning majority. In order for Reid to shut Joe Lobotomyman for good, the Dems need to pick up one more seat, either by converting an existing Rep or winning another in 2008. Aside from that they have to make nice or Mitch McConnell takes the gavel.

For those of you that complain that DEMS=REPUBS, understand our system of government forces that. Dems cant "take over" because they still dont have the Presidency or a super majority in the senate and house. Stuff doesnt get done in the senate unless you get 60 senators to agree to stop talking. The party selection is shitty because our system requires it. Only catastrophy brings a sea-change in party behavior.
