Thanks. If true, that seems a bit odd to say the least.

Raphael post's 1700 posts without one coherent thought and you guys are willing to lap up his explanation about why he was banned? Come now. Raph was given many formal warnings and a temporary ban for various violations of the Code of Conduct. The post that finally got him permanently banned for was one were he was telling cynicalheretic that he should commit suicide. As you may note, in the COC, posts advocating illegal acts in general, and suicide in particular are prohibited. This was not a one time thing. Raphael got MANY warnings before the boot.

Deleting his posts, was a decision made above my level. I suspect it was because they took up a huge amount of space and were completely incoherent.

What I find strange is that a Doctor would use Small Pox Girl as a name. I guess it's a sick joke, but probably not very funny to someone who's loved ones died of smallpox.

Really. And how many people on this forum that advocate, or have advocated activities such as stockpiling of things like weapons, ammunition and precious metals, have been banned, exactly?

The first two are certainly "frowned upon" to put it mildly in many areas. But I seem to recall something about gold stockpiling in particular being a federal crime or some such?

[EDIT: That is to say, by the individual citizen...]

Or maybe I just dreamt that one? [smilie=sleepy1.gif]

Actually, as far as I'm aware, none of the activities you listed are crimes. And several of our members have received shorter bans or warnings or something for advocating illegal activities. It's simply board policy, and one I approve of.

As for how many, I have no idea, but one thing I can pride our moderating staff on is they make a great deal of effort into being fair and even in their responses. If Raph got a ban, hey, them's the breaks. Read the CoC and don't violate it. It's not that hard really.

Depends on which country you're in. :-D

But I have to admit that although I chewed my way through Heidegger I have yet to finish reading one of Raphs posts.

the guy was out there......... somewhere way out.

Other than that he seemed pretty harmless.

But then again rules are rules, and I as far as I'm concerned the Mods are doing a pretty good job out here. Needs to be said sometime.

SMG glad you solved your gender crisis.

About the male content of this site. What's up with that. Are women not interested in PO? Are they all hidden at the dear abby fora. Or do we males chase them away?

I have no tolerance for members who call for or advocate suicide.

COC or not, if I catch you endorsing suicide on this board I won't hesitate to ban you. I'll also delete your account & every post you ever made here.

Some things are flexible... this one is not.

As Raph discovered.
The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

Glad someone else got that point...

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'B')ut I have to admit that although I chewed my way through Heidegger I have yet to finish reading one of Raphs posts.

Not really. His writing style is just not familiar to most "linear" thinkers. It's referred to in literary circles as "train of thought" and is an attempt (conscious or not) to reflect in writing the free-associative nature of more intuitive, holistic and non-linear thinking. Being familiar with it, I generally had little difficulty understanding what he was saying...

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A')bout the male content of this site. What's up with that. Are women not interested in PO? Are they all hidden at the dear abby fora. Or do we males chase them away?

This is just a guess, but considering the fact that women are the primary drivers of consumerist culture, I doubt many of them get very excited about a site that presents evidence that said culture is facing imminent collapse.

Agreed - I have read most or Ralph's post. I like the way he wirites he has unique ideas that flow logically.

I have circulated his posts to other groups I belong to and the response has been overwhelmingly similar..."this guy is onto something".

Funny. My reaction was always "this guy is on something."

Yeah, when I talk to friends and family about PO, GW, Overshoot, Global economic depression they think I am on something to.

How bout you smallpox...people think you r on crack talking about something as obvious and logical as PO?

When you show them the reams of evidence why our world is going to do the dead cat bounce in under 10 years...they say to you...yeah pox ur on to something?

Kick um a flick like crude awakening and they say "right on bro...makes all the sense in the world".

Send them to prison planet and they come back and say to ya, "hey small, great site ...alex is onto something there"

If so girl...you are a better man than me...

cuz I get the "ur on crack" look each and every time I bring any of this up to "the other side".

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Aaron', 'I')'ll also delete [..] every post you ever made here.

I can understand a banning, after repeated warnings, especially if (you believe) that someone close to you committed suicide at least partly because of another's encouragement. However, to delete *every* post Ralph ever made, posts which many members of this community really enjoyed reading...?

That just seems... vindictive...

You've not yet learned, Parker?
