Tree branch falls on my car... How was your day?

Unread postby emersonbiggins » Wed 06 Jun 2007, 19:45:53

Ironically enough, I decided to take the bus to work this week (and for the summer) to save money on parking and gas. Patting myself on the back the last couple of days apparently cost me a LOT of karma, because a tree branch fell on my car at my house around noon today.

Oh well, anyone else having this kind of day? :P

look at it like this; you'd probably have killed yourself today driving that car straight into a tree at 80 Mph, now aren't you glad you offset some of that karma? ;)

.....My day was boring apart from taking my bicycle for a spin around town.

Yep, as "shit happens" goes, this isn't as bad as it could be.

My car already looks like hell, so a tree branch falling on it would do little to make it look worse.

There are advantages to driving a junker. I don't mind if people eat in my car, or drop sauces on the upholstery.

Wow, that must have fallen really slowly not to completely crush the car. Looks minor, your windows are not even broken. Just drill some holes and pull it out. Cover the crumples with some yellow ribbons. :)

That thing won't be useful by 2012 anyway.

You just described my car. And my truck. Dents have been dealt with by pulling the bumper back out with a come-along. OR hammering out with a sledge.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Bas', 'n')ice tree btw :)

Funny, that was my first thought! But then, I really do love trees.

We just finished cutting down our (formerly) beautiful, 40 foot weeping birch. It just got old and died, apparently, as have many around here. I was very sad to see it go; I used to love looking at that tree through my bedroom window every morning.

May your car have a speedy recovery!

My day has been ho-hum, nothing special, did have a nice walk with my dog, thanks for asking!

Looks like the tree branch drooped over pinning the car down abit as if the tree tells you to take a walk for the greens.

Hmm, please, tell me if the branch isn't broken because if its not, I'd chain myself to the tree.

As for my day, a car clipped me while riding my bike. As I tried to gain control, weaving to the side of the hummer and scratched it (it's not that bad how this sound). What would you think I'd do if I were you?

The branch was quite waterlogged upon inspection, which is no surprise considering that we're currently +10" on average rainfall here this year. Being an Arizona Ash, this tree probably wasn't adapted well for such fluctuations, especially considering we're at the end of a 5 year drought in TX & OK.

Funny weather makes for confused trees. That's right, the trees get confused - suck up water at the wrong time, flower at the wrong time, etc.

"If there's one thing we don't need, it's confused trees" - a farmer friend of mine up in bumfuck, AZ.

It's really only a small dent, it will buff right out! Honestly, I can't believe you got away with this small amount of damage.
