first time posting

Unread postby horsedrawn » Mon 04 Jun 2007, 21:32:05

Hello All! I have been lurking around here since early '04, Thought it hi time that i post somthing. I have been gatheriing as much info as i can and I guess i fit in the DOOMER group here. I have been lucky enough to have done a lot a traveling when i was with Uncle Sams Misguided Children. And know just how poor the poor countrys are. Not many have a clue!
as for me, I grew up on a dairy farm here in Wisconsin. And have farmed all my life, With the acception of the years i was in service. I farm with a mixed operation of horses and tractors. So fuel use has stayed at a minimum.I get a lotta sh_t from the neighbors with there chemical farming ways! They may soon find out why i have been doing it.
I also have had the misfortune of trying to sway people by telling them of the upcoming economic and oil crisis. But as many have said before. It is not an easy task! Someone made the analogie about the titanic, That you've seen the ship hit the iceburg and know it is sinking, But no one wants to look for them selves or get a life preserver on and prepare to abandon ship. Business as usual.Or THEY ( who is that and how do we find them? ) will figure it out don't worry. So all for know hope to add to the site when i can
Thanks

You'll be like hand in glove here!

I wasn't raised on a farm but ran away "to the country" in my 20s.

Welcome. You are among friends here.

We may argue now and then among ourselves, but we're unified in our knowledge that the oil party is drawing to a close... at some point.

Always nice to see a new person step up to the plate. :)

"the oil party is drawing to a close... at some point. "

I'll just kick the dysfunctional part of this family off right here and now....

Total liquids peaked in Dec 2005 at 74, 050 B/d...never been passed since.

The party is OVER NOW.

Countries on the margins are suffering significantly and the circle gets smaller.

Die off just round the corner.

Cheers

roccman,

The peak may have come and passed, but the party will linger as long as there's still some spilled beer on the floor to suck on and powder particles in the carpet to snort. The party could drag on quite a bit longer that way.

Welcome fellow doomer.

I am glad to hear that you are a doomer. If you had been lurking since 2004 and weren't one, it would only mean that you just weren't trying hard enough.

You tried to become a doomer? all I did was stop trying to come up with more and more rediculous ideas on how to stop things from becoming hell on earth. It's far less work to be a doomer because we don't have to keep lying to ourselves.

I'm curious, why lurk for so long and then decide to speak out? You're knowledge was just as useful 3 years ago, maybe more so then.

It is possible since he's an... ungh... AOL client.
The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

Welcome Horsedrawn! Nice to see another horsey person on the board. I have six myself, a big Irish Draught (who doesn't know how to do farmwork - yet!), 3 Spanish Mustangs, a sports horse and a teeny tiny pony for my cousins. What kind of animals do you do your work with?
We've tried nothin' and we're all out of ideas.
