I refer to peakoil.org as the initial site when trying to explain PO to others rather than peakoil.com. Needless to say those of us who are meanwhile on the forum level keep forgetting that there are newcommers every day. For explanation purposes peakoil. org is simply the best.

Is there a site that will explain about oil without saying we will run out of oil?

The words "we will run out of oil" or "no more oil" scares people and they simply shut out anything else and just claim the authors are bias and crazy.

I think I want to see a site that will talk about oil production not being able to meet demands. If you phrase it like that and explained that it takes 10+ years to get a new oil field to full production and that demand is simply rising faster than we can built infrastructure, I think more people will be more willing to listen.

Also, if you phrase it like this, you can quote Exxon, Chevron, and other top CEO and other oil experts as saying the same thing that it will be a big challenge to meet oil demands because production cannot increase that much.

I think when people see the problem of oil unable to increase production, they will realize PO!

I clicked on 10 years ..... although there have been a lot of changes in this country since 9-11-2001, even just since the war started in 2003. We could well get shut down in 5 years.

I can see people going back to BBS type stuff, on the phone lines, may be slow but it's plenty fast for text and may be too distributed (which the net was supposed to be but is increasingly not) for TPTB to stamp out.
