The perfect distraction

Before this whole vtech shooting bullshit, the news was focused on the firing of the eight attorneys and the investigation of gonzales. Now this shooting has over taken the countries attention. It pisses me off, here's why

32 people die in America and we have massive candelight vigils and devote hours of speculation about it. What about the atrocities in the world commited by us?

Then, they speculate why he did it and who's to blame. The culture of the united states is to blame if you ask me. It was founded on ignorant pilgrims who fled for religious freedom but massacred the indeginous people because of their religion. hmmm.. that makes sense. In the present the whole goddamm country has gone mad. People can't sit still without playing with their electronic toys. People are shallow and superficcial and follow the crowd usually about everything. They are constantly bombarded with propaganda. Look around the room that you are in. How many logos of corporations can u see. i see 15. even without turning around. You never see pictures and bios of the innocent civilians in Iraq. Or the starving children and the suffering of their families. Hell, I need a couple xanaxs a day just to deal with this bullshit. The U.S. has this war on drugs but yet they prescribe so many medicines that fuck you up just as much.

here's the drug list...

xanax
clonopin
valium
vicodin
tylenol 3,4
soma
percocet
adderall
ritalin
lunesta
ambien (don't forget the cr because regular ambien has a generic and we want your money!)
provogil
plus many more

I went on a tageant because thats just how many things race through your head when you live in the divided states of euphoria.

and you wonder why he went mad???

John Stewart said tonight what I have been thinking since it happened that is besides what you so eloquently pointed out Kristen.

Baghdad death toll climbs to at least 183

The culture of the US is not to blame. The deranged killer used that excuse. Get a grip.

So was all the neocon rhetoric prior to the Iraqi Invasion and then we went on to kill maybe 1,000,000 Iraqi's and most of us here know it was for resources and to get into position to fight further resource wars.

What we have here is the beginnings of thought crime.
Has anyone been watching what hollywood and the networks have been pushing lately?

This is an effort to get us all into lock step and one slip and yer locked up, drugged and or disposed of like a mod suggested I should be.

Wow the New episode of Jericho is on right after the new epsiode of "24"...gotta run!

Culture always plays a role.

If you are uncomfortable due to your complicity in the unfolding of your culture, I suggest you get a grip.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Kristen', 'B')efore this whole vtech shooting bullshit, the news was focused on the firing of the eight attorneys and the investigation of gonzales. Now this shooting has over taken the countries attention. It pisses me off, here's why

Well I agree with the gist of what you're saying. Seems like quite a distraction, right before the gonzales hearings and all. And the self-absorption and narcistic qualities of our culture are disgustingly magnified by the media which dwells on the event, over and over again. Especially considering at least this many people are dying everyday in Iraq, often in just as violent and disturbing ways.

As to whether the killer was somehow trained ("mind controlled") .. who knows. I doubt it but it's certainly possible. It would be quite the tool of mass distraction. Cho kept talking about 'you made me do it' .. 'backed me into a corner'.. in his videos.

Prolly a gang-stalking victim that went postal (tongue somewhat in cheek). Somehow I feel with the amount of violence currently displayed in US culture - from the torturer-in-chief all the way down - that this blight was richly deserved. I read an article recently on the treatment of prisoners at Gitmo and it was sickening. Sounds like they were (are) basically used as part of an organized torture program. No one cares.

Anyway, if you're a true doomer you understand this is nothing and things will get much worse.

I wonder what life would like here in the US if we had the same body count as Iraq. Not good.

Wait a few years. We'll get there.
