Anybody see Grindhouse?

Unread postby mmasters » Wed 18 Apr 2007, 14:17:06

I ended up seeing it last weekend. Was better than I thought it would be. I liked the first movie about zombie hordes better than the second one about the stunt driver killer. The dancer girl with a stick for a leg/machine gun was great.

I also liked the previews. Best one was Machete about the Mexican taking revenge on the bad guys, that was great. Checked IMDB and it's going to actually be made into a movie. Figure it's release should time well with the collapse of Cantarell.

second movie was so slow to start with it was horrible. The ending car chase was great though.

Zombies where good but I prefer watching giant cities tear themselves to pieces to watching small restaurants burn.

I can't believe they are really going to make machette. I'll end up seeing it. Who's directing?

Rodriguez, same guy that directed the zombies one.

Unfortunately, the movie(s) tanked at the box office. I don't think people really "got" it. It makes the odds of a sequel pretty slim.

I really enjoyed Planet Terror and thought Death Proof had its moments.

I thought it was a gas. Loved both flicks. But especially the trailers. Worth the price of admission alone. Thanksgiving was just...whoa.

Planet terror was hilarious.

I actually really liked Death-Proof. I enjoy that Tarantino-style dialogue that just goes nowhere. It was a nice respite from the gore-fest that was Planet Terror. But the car chase was amazing. Zoe Bell is just so cool. I laughed so hard during the chase when the girls turned the tables on Stuntman Mike. Zoe's roundhouse kick to Kurt Russell was spectacular.

Lots of subtle things that you miss in the first viewing. I saw it twice and enjoyed it even more.

One of those movies that people will be playing on their DVD players for decades (if the grid still exists). Just like Reservoir Dogs, and Kill Bill.

5 Stars.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('pstarr', 'y')eah the first movie was really great. I missed the intermission because I actually used the opportunity to intermit.

The second movie bored me and I walked out.

I laughed most of the way through planet terror, very funny. The girls in Death Proof (Killer Stunt Man) talked way too much, in fact I almost left, but came back after i used the restrooms (girls were still talking). Best part of Death Proof was when Stunt Man Mike was crying like a little girl after he got shot.

"Werewolf Women of the SS" , made me laugh so hard.

I don't know if Grindhouse was made to be funny, but it really was funny.

The whole thing had me laughing harder than I have in a long time.
