There you have it. Case closed. I always thought simmons was being metaphorical when he said we'd see peak oil in the rearview mirror. I didn't actually think I would see peak oil in the rearview mirror. I'm a believer now.

Meanwhile, there's still gas at the gas stations, still food at the stores. If this is Peak Oil in the rear view mirror then we can all breath a sigh of relief.

That's true PMS. I was at a sporting goods store today. There was a hunting show on the TeeVee. It was actually pretty offensive. Big fat guy who probably couldn't walk more than several hundred yards away from his fossil fuel life support system...he shoots this huge majestic bull elk with a high powered rifle (looked like a game ranch too).

Anyway this bull elk gets pummeled with a 30 cal bullet right behind the shoulder but doesn't miss a step and keeps running along with the herd. The elk keeps going and going until several hundred yards later it peels away from the herd and falls over dead.

I think we're just like that elk, we just haven't bled out yet.

no? I would. It's part of the fun while we wait for the curtain to fall. He's a worthy adversary. I liked how he ground Matt Savinar into mincemeat. Very impressive. 8)

Things will get gradually worse. Wait until we have the cliff in the rearview. Right now it's just a gentle decline.
