Gas shortages this summer?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('128shot', '
')That, and I am looking forward to our new vehicle of choice.

Is the essence of altruism synonymous to Christmas, or is it just another capitalistic scam, that encourages the consumer to consume more?

Just curious.

I dunno .... got my new Bianchi Pista today, plus a new messenger bag! W00t! Consumerism!

Honestly, it's damn hard to find a bike my size, and I've been looking at and pricing bikes for a while - even checked out a few more shops and makers before getting this thing.

Comes set up as a fixie, oops! I was walking it back to my car, along the sidewalk in Palo Alto, and stopped to say Hi to a I guess homeless guy I'd seen last night (when putting some $ down on the bike). I ended up buying coffees for him, me, and another homeless guy, and we got talking, turns out it's then I notice the bike's set up as a fix! Not like the usual singlespeeds, set up as freewheeling singlespeeds and you have to go buy the extra cog to put on the other side of the hub to run it as a fix.
Well, fixies are a beautiful thing, but mainly at the velodrome! I went back to the bike shop and for $20 had it set up as a freewheel with a 17t cog, which is ok, rather have a 16t but spinning is good.

So, initially, between the bike, neato new bag, and some odds and ends like toeclips and straps and a patch kit, I'm spending more, but the ultimate plan (tm) is to see if I feel comfortable biking everywhere and get rid of the car.

Then I might pheer bike thieves but gas shortages won't bother me!

I have got 300 gallons of gas stored, and I have sent up my cat to take care of anyone who goes near it.

Sweet. Gotta love a new bike. I don't mind a fix i nthe city at all. As long as it has brakes. I ran my city single as a fix/free which was nice for the flexibility.

Lately though I've just been using my regular road bike. Either way, I should be able to retain mobility for a while in the face of high prices.

This bike comes as a fix, I thought it came as a freewheel - so I had 'em put on a freewheel cog, now I can flip it back and forth.

I think fixies are great, I just don't feel like riding one around on the streets around here.

I dont get fixies. I like the ability to make my legs better control the speed and operation of the bike using gears.

I'll stick to my general purpose 18 speed bike thank you very much
