These guys are working on self-replicating rapid prototyping machines.

Basically replicators.

This will be what the zombie bikers wanted so no its bad bad!!
Plus there is something about self replicating machines that frightens me....

Hmm for little novel items ok maybe whatever but I think I would prefer to just not need small pieces of plastic or to find some suitable ecological alternative instead.

I guess it may be good for food storage/preservation and there's alot of plastic in landfills.
For those who are aware and plan on continuing their current level of comfort post peak this is probably one of the greatest ideas since sliced bread.
Sometimes I just want to break plastic for no reason - am I alone?8O
It is easier to enslave a people that wish to remain free then it is to free a people who wish to remain enslaved.

No scarier than your Grandpa showing you the lathe .... he made using his first lathe.....

Takes tons of energy to run on, plastic, etc.

But yeah, you're not alone in wanting to smash plastic..... every time I see someone doing the "zombie dance" and talking to their voices via a cellphone clamped to the side of their head, I feel like smashing their phone and head both.
