It will be the US that decides the shape of the post peak oil world. It uses more energy then anyone, it has more political clout then anybody else, the biggest economy and more military might.

The US has the power to save the earth or destroy it.

If they are selfish and decide that their lifestyle is more important than the fate of the rest of the planet then we are all screwed.

On the otherhand if they deside to sacrifice their high standard of living and ... who am I kidding ... we're screwed.
