Well, the most important thing heading to understanding PO impact is to see what all around us is dependent on oil.. I think it's important now to a) start collecting important and well-crafted equipment for the future b) learn as much handcraft and repairing skills as possible because as mentioned before, most of our products are not made to last but to get useless in short time for more selling. It might sound stupid now, but tens of years of less and more expensive industry will surely change the minds about how important good and lasting quality is also to the products that are made now.
Whining about this topic is useless, don't read if you don't find this subject interesting. If a topic makes even one person to think more accurately about important things, the topic can not be useless.

Then I think you need to read the forum posting permissions at the top. There is a criteria for posts in this forum.

Another point we have to consider is this. Depending on how fast the crash is (cliff or gentle slope), we will probably see a decline or halt in the production of most of our beloved consumer goods. People will still have these things in their home, but because of Wal-Mart sweatshop quality, it is doubtful that they will last long.

Come on, it's always about the money. Something breaks easy, it will assure the seller you will come back for another, in theory.

How do you think the drug companies rake the money in? They treat the symptom, and not the cause. Then they try to suppress the cure for the cause(natural). Want an example of many? Just Googled this off top of my head. btw, I use stevia, tasty plant.

Their is big money in the Food and Drug industry. hmph, sounds similar to a certain government agency....

Refurbishing will be a new occupation.
